    Stepping out of the shadows

    Hello Cyburbians,

I am a planner for a medium size college town on the Alabama/Georgia border (Currently the BCS National Champion, if that helps).

I've been perusing the boards on and off for 7 or 8 years and I've finally decided to say hello. I've always enjoyed reading the discussions, those both professional and not-so-professional. After reaching some of my early goals (grad degree, job); I realized I'm getting a little burnt-out and still not where I want to be. I figure it would be good to interact with some planners I don't have to sit through staff meetings with everyday.

Anyway I hope I provide something to the discussion.

Welcome to Cyburbia, from the town with the highest ratio of students to townies in the United States! Only another month and a half until the locals reclaim the place for the summer ...

Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

Greetings from metro Atlanta (well, technically I'm in Illinois this week, but whatever). As the resident Dawgs fan, I'll try not to judge you based on your location.
I found you a new motto from a sign hanging on their wall…"Drink coffee: do stupid things faster and with more energy"

Thanks for all the hearty welcomes. As a non-native, I can admit that my school might have at least "blurred" the student-athlete lines. Still better than our in-state rivals though.

    Howdy from Austin.

My supervisor is a graduate of the college in your town on the Georgia/Alabama border. He's a good guy.

    Welcome to the forums.

    Hello, from Dallas, TX!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011
