    New smilies

Adding some smilies/emoticons, and updating others.

    The FAQ.

Q: What are the new smilies?
A: Post a message and see for yourself.

Q: Are more new smilies coming?
    A: Probably.

Q: Why are Cyburbia's smilies so small?
A: So they aren't overwhelming, and line breaks in paragraphs remain more-or-less uniform.

Q: Hey, can you add this smiley?

    A: No.

    Q: Why the hell not?
    A: It's huge, it's animated, it's obnoxious, and we already have .

    Q: I don't like this smilie.
    A: That's not a question.

Q: Okay. But what the hell is that thing?
    A: Trollface.

Q: How many smilies can I use in a message?
A: Use your judgement, but don't go overboard. Try to keep them to a minimum in the Planning and the Built Environment subforums.

The dog and cat have been there for a while. They're on the list to be redesigned.

    OK, this cracked me up!

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

Lemme' see what's out there that I can work with.

    EDIT: something like this?

I'm not going to lie...I didn't know the facepalm smilie was a facepalm smilie at first. The hand and face blend together too well that I couldn't really tell what it was at first. Good smilie to have though.

Also, can we get an Illinois smilie too? Maybe throw in CA, MI, NY, and NJ in there for good measure too. That'll cover most of the most-populated states, states that many Cyburbians have connections to, and states that seem to be talked about the most.

Dan, I don't like the new devil emoticon. The old one conveyed trouble-making puckishness much more than its replacement. The new one seems simply to say 'evil' - a sentiment expressed far less on Cyburbia than puckishness. I think most others would agree.
