Surprised nobody has asked the age old question -

Is it the suit that makes the man, or the man that makes the suit ?

    Well.....

Not bad....not bad at all...the RJ cleans up good...I'm thinking those boots/shoes don't match the suit, go with a pair of birkenstocks or gladiator sandals instead

Seriously, I like the boots/shoes, but maybe not with that suit*.

I think you should consider getting blue shoes. Everyone always says go with brown or black... but if you want to make a statement with that suit... and I think we can all tell you do... the blue shoes are the way to go.

White shoes with a white hat and a white cane with white tie would do the trick

    The shoes

They are two-tone...black and tan slip-ons. The kiltie parts are tan and the rest black. I figure I can wear them with anything.

Don't listen to all this advice about the shoes. The shoes are perfect. Love the shoes!

You can maybe mix a very pale tan pair of shorts with a black shirt, but beyond that...

On some level, I think you're making fun of me!

I bought a new suit today from . It's a light-blue and white seersucker. (ZG thinks I should wear it with a bow tie.) Should be here in a few days.

That will require white shoes and a straw boater.

For contrast, I'm going with my new brown wingtip shoes and a brown belt for me next public hearing. Gentlemen don't wear hats indoors.

Of course you should wear it with a bow tie. A carnation and straw boater are mandatory accessories as well.
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

Don't forget the cane. Preferably bamboo.
