    Is 1313 bad luck?

The number is 1313, and yes, I am serious about this.

No. I don't think any number is bad luck.

Now numbers that are good luck on the other hand are another thing....

of course its bad luck. thats what you need to dial before dialing my telephone number. You will then talk to me and be doomed!

So when you add them all together you get 8, which isn't a bad number like 4 in feng shiu. Maybe I'm not one to talk though, when I moved into my apt, I had choice of units, 5212 or 5213. I chose 5212 because 2 is a lucky number for me, and even more so 22, so with my address having two 2s...and not 13, it felt right. 22 followe me everywhere, for example, the last two number of my work extension/phone number, 22!

When one of my best friend lived in a duplex, his address number was 666. He said it was a great place to live.

Go for it and if people comment about it just smile and say "I know. That's why I live there." and watch their reaction.

Eh, I think it's fine. Better than 666!

If a number includes the digits 1 followed by 3 but includes other non-zero digits I don't consider it unlucky. So 4135, 754813987, 133, 501347, etc. are not unlucky. However if the number includes the digits 1 followed by 3 but all other digits before or after 1 and 3 are zero and/or 1 followed by 3,then I consider it unlucky. So 1313, 131313, 13000, .00013, 13013,etc.are unlucky. The same "rules" apply to 666. If I buy groceries or a meal that totals $6.66 I add or subtract items because I equate that with food poisoning.

However, I don't go so far as adding, subtracting, multiplying, etc. to get unlucky numbers (or reverse order). 94 is not unlucky even though 9+4 = 13. Reverse order of digits such as 31 is not unlucky (although the reverse order of 666 is 666 which is unlucky). The numbers 7 and 8, viewed as either good or bad luck in non-western society, do not have significant meaning for me.

No, I do NOT have OCD! I do not live my life vicariously through numbers (to the detriment of every math and science teacher). There are just some numbers that "pop" out to me as bad luck.

Sounds like me. It seems like 1's and 7's follow me everywhere.

As for 1313, it seemed to work out okay for the Munsters.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title is, "Of course it's bad luck, it means I'm calling Detroit!" (Even though I'm old enough to remember growing up in St. Clair County and that being our area code as well)

1313 was my college girlfriend's dorm room number. It was a very lucky number.

I say go for it. I also say there is no such thing as a lucky or unlucky number. If you say 13 is an unlucky number you will notice all the bad things that have 13 in them. Try declaring another number unlucky and see what bad things you notice about it.

13 is a good number in doughnuts. You get an extra one free.

I don't know if I wouldn't live in a place just because of the numbers in it. But then again, two of my past ex-GFs, I started dating on the 13th. And one of those same relationships also ended on the 13th. So I'm probably not going to start dating another girl on the 13th again. That being said, lucky/unlucky numbers are probably different for everyone, if they exist for that person at all.

If you're fretting that much that you made a poll on Cyburbia about it, I probably wouldn't live in that place. It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you think it's going to yield bad luck, it probably eventually will. Go find a place where you don't even get the feeling it might bring you bad luck.
