    never ending self-contradictory thread

why do snowmobile and 4 wheeler enthusiasts freak at any regulation that they feel may hinder property rights when they think nothing of going across other people's private property without asking permission and violently respond if their access is cut off by a private property owner?

Why do people always insist that they deserve better services but refuse to pay higher taxes?

Insanity in individuals is something rare - but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule.

I can't top that (it is the winner in my book) but I would add...

Why do people get mad when told to follow a regulation, but insist that their neighbor follow it to a tee?

LP, you start an appalling number of FAC threads.
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

Why do hunters either wear camouflage or day-glo orange?

Actually I think there are some good reasons. In a high traffic area day glo orange will help you to not get shot by fellow hunters. In a more remote location where that isn't as much of a worry camoflauge will obviously help with your hunting success.

In many states, they do what the law dictates.

Hunters and drivers would be most appreciative if deer were day-glo orange.

If they can make glow in the dark cats they can probably make day-glo orange deer. Somebody should get on it.

The same can be said in the service industry...higher quality products and services for a lower price.

I would like the exact same thing he is having but different (insert change order here.)

Or a council member mentioning the support for the free market but asking for reduced fees or incentives for his developer friend.

    Monkey Business

Why do many business owners make certain that their employees follow every rule and regulation but squak quite loudly at OSHA regs or EPA regs?

Well, a lot of people are willing to pay taxes to finance the services they want, but may not have a problem cutting things other people want.

Why is that when you tell clients they can only have two, they want all three?

A lot of voters vote for what they think is the right thing to do, not just for economic reasons. I'm not political of either party but I've often heard democrats only vote to get government money. See how they both sounds silly. ..or was this a joke?
