Consultant and author Otis White is working on an article for an upcoming issue of the Planning Commissioners Journal about planning commissioners who have played a major role in changing their communities over time. As Otis notes "while the changes would probably be in the community’s built environment, they could have happened in connection with other changes (for example, in the city or town’s economy or demographics)."

If you have any leads / suggestions for individuals Otis might contact -- please reply to me privately and I'll pass along the information.

Finally, in his article Otis will more generally be discussing the role planning commissioners can play as advocates of significant community change. My questions to you: Does that role fit with other planning commissioner duties? Does it mesh with the role planning commissioners play (or are expected to play) in your community? Any comments here would be appreciated.
