    Shark jumping dates/events needed

What signalled American politics had jumped the shark in the modern era?

For the record the Rolling Stones officially jumped the shark with the release of their album Emotional Rescue. Anyone care to disagree?

What other shark jumping events need to be documented for posterity? Post them here.

I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

Let's not be didactic in this profession, because that is a path to disillusion and irrelevancy.

Insanity in individuals is something rare - but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule.

I think the Stones may have walked back from some of the damage done with Emotional Rescue but Jagger definitely and irreversibly jumped the shark in 1985 when he teamed up with David Bowie for some Dancing in the Streets.
