    Regulating hospital helipad

Has anyone dealt with aproving a hospital with a helipad? I'm looking for what types of issues must be dealt with to mitagate possible safety, noise, or other propblems associated with helicopters. I realize the FAA and out state's DOT regulates helipads, but I need to make sure there won't be any negative impacts on the surrounding residential properties.

    Thanks!

FAA is little to no help. No standards, only guidelines. In my most recent experience I stopped a pilots' dorm, and the appeals board overruled me on the residential/noise issue. After four years it is now accepted in the neighborhood. Ask a pilot what to look for if you can.
