I'm new here I have been looking into a Bach of Urban Development (Property Economics) at QUT. I am really into investing and will soon be purchasing my first investment property. I am so sick of dull unchallenging jobs though. So I looked at uni but the only degree I can find that suits my interests is this one. A friend put me onto this forum to find out a little more. As it seems to be a bit of a niche sector. I am naturally cautious so I worry about a uni debt and not many job prospects (like a degree in environmental science or bach of Arts) or a lower income than what I am on now (45K).
My questions are what are the job prospects of a graduate? What are the salaries on offer to start with. Should I look at Construction Management instead, or something else property related?
I have read a few posts before writing this and it doesn't seem good. It sounded like a struggle to find work. One of the things I liked about this course was the international recognition (RICS was it?). Are there other countries were it is easier to find work?
Cheers for any helpful answers! Especially from someone who has done property economics as I can't find anyone who has so far so it's hard to get a picture of what it's like. Also I can destroy any English based subject but my maths ability has always been of a general level. I mean for property investing and stocks it's been fine but I couldn't handle advanced maths. Does this rule my out of some of these courses?
