Earthquake in southern Virginia. Said it was 5.8 - 6.0 magnitude.
From our NCPLanners listserve, people felt it all across the state, from the coast to the mountains.
edit:It was central VA, not southern.

There are folks saying they felt a quake here, but my building would withstand the a-bomb so I did not deel a thing. My old building however would sway when we would have minor quakes and windstorms. Being on the 19th floor there was no fun on those days. Otherwise it was great I could see from Lake Erie to Lake St. Clair. I could see the spires of the parishes where my parents and grandparents went to school from my desk. I loved my West Side view.

I did not (Eastern NC), but when chasing a toddler around the house you tend to forget there is other things happening outside.
But I wish I could be totally cool and say I did like everyone else.

I didn't notice anything in my part of upstate NY... but I have a client not all that far from the epicenter - hope they are all OK.

I was taking the office car ('94 Buick, AKA "The Beast") to get E Checked. I was stopped looking for paperwork and the car felt like I was being buffeted by the wind or on a bridge. Had to be.
Nothing felt here (NE Wisconsin).

On the sixth floor here in Boston. I felt it. It reminded me of the earthquakes I felt as a kid in California.
One piece of news I am happy to report: the new bookcase installed in my office yesterday did not fall on me.

I didn't feel a thing, although there are a lot of folks here in metro Atlanta claiming to have felt it...I'm guessing most of them just needed something new for their Facebook status.

Seems all of our multiple story buildings felt it... but I personally didn't. I was in a meeting and when I got out my Admin. Asst. asked if I had felt it.... I didn't....

Supposedly felt here, but not by me.
We felt it here in the Southern Tier of NY. The buildings on our campus are all built on slabs, and I was in a meeting in a first floor interior conference room. We felt the ground moving and heard the suspended ceiling creaking, so if we had had hanging lights, I'm sure they would have been swaying. There seemed to be two separate shock waves which seemed to last longer than the shock wave from the Montreal earthquake last year.
We evacuated our unit (all five of us) for a bit but there wasn't an official evacuation, but most of the campus did not. Jamestown City Hall was evacuated for 40 minutes while city engineers checked the building for structural damage.
Nada down this way, just the normal upper 90s and low 100s.

I didn't feel - and I feel so cheated.
My office is on the ground floor, however people on the 3rd floor said they felt it and they evacuated another building about 6 blocks away.

I was at a DOT training session on PROWAG, but didn't feel it. My daughter said she felt it and the folks in my office definitely felt the building move.

It was just preparation for the hurricane set to strike on Saturday/Sunday. This will be followed by flooding, plague, and locusts, all leading up to the END OF THE WORLD on October 21.
I did not feel anything, which must mean I will be one of those that are saved.
