I thought it was refreshing to see a baseball bounce off someone's head and NOT go for a home run.

    Ouch. That hurts.

The Tigers better get it going so I don't have to buy Raf a six-pack!

No gloating here, but I am getting pretty sick and tired of hearing how the tigers are not doing this, or that from ESPN, MLB network, etc. How about expcept the fact that:

    a) Pablo has owned Verlander (including the tripple in the All-Star game) and is locked and in the zone right now
    b) The Tigers blew a chance to score by sending Fielder home knowing that the Giants have superior fielding
    c) The Giants have out pitched the Tigers in both Starting Rotation and Bullpen

I think it's because they took out the Yanks in 4 in pretty convincing fashion. Before that, no one, including its own fan base, thought the Tigers would get this far in the playoffs.

We (Tigers fans) had to hear the same stuff when we beat the Yanks.

I am pretty angry about last night's game, more so than the drubbing we took in game one. I don't care who you are, you can't get 2 hit in the World Series, let alone against someone who Bochy wasn't even sure he wanted to start. SF simply played a better baseball game. The Tigers, in typical fashion, are a softball team just trying to wack the hell out of the ball. And that's fine, but then what the hell is Lamont sending Fielder home then with no outs?

Probably thought that a little exercise would be good for him.

I resisted buying the National League champs tee-shirt when we were in the Bay Area (my sister had one). I'll wait for the World Series champs shirts to come out.

Not me, after he made fun of my Gators all afternoon. You just don't do that.

RJ threw my dinner and the kid's in the trash because I took exception to his dissing of the Gators. Is the sports obsession getting to be a little much?

Aurelio Rodriguez was one of my favorite players, I always wore #6, and Mickey Lolich got rid of my bad habits at pitching camp, so I go way back. And I don't see how the Tigers can do it with this mindset. They are not there.

Congrats to the Giants indeed. What an inopportune time to go into an offensive slump. Oh well, it was a good run and it was fun while it lasted. Thankfully we have Cabrera, Fielder, Scherzer, Fister, Verlander, and some other key pieced locked in for a few more years and Martinez will be back from injury in 2013. Hopefully we can re-sign Sanchez since he was phenomenal once he arrived and pick up a new closer.

Only 159 days until opening day next season!

In other MLB news, my daughter and I were walking home from the farmer's market yesterday morning and stopped in the park to play on the swings when we met Brian Wilson from the Giants. I wanted to get a picture of him pushing my daughter on the swing or holding her but she had a meltdown anytime he and his gigantic, comically colored beard got too close. Despite all the 'roid rage though, he seemed like a nice enough guy and was very personable to the couple of fans who recognized and approached him while he was hanging out.
