    New to Cyburbia

Hello! My name is Stephanie Ashe Brown and I am the Development Planner for the City of Decatur, Illinois. I am excited to be a part of the discussion and pick the minds of brilliant planners from all around. My focus as a planner is in the areas of historic preservation, TIF districts, graphic design, current planning and downtown revitalization. Regards, Stephanie

Welcome from Kansas City! I myself was an undergrad planning student at UIUC and an intern in the Danville area so Decatur practically feels like home. I'm curious to hear what projects have been going on over there.

Sidenote: I really like that Sufjan Stevens song about Decatur

Insanity in individuals is something rare - but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule.

    Welcome from SW Ohio!

One longtime member, DecaturHawk, should have some detailed knowledge of planning in Decatur.
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

Let's not be didactic in this profession, because that is a path to disillusion and irrelevancy.

    Hello, from Dallas, TX!
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011
