    2012 Cyburbian Death Pool

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends. Time for Cyburbians to submit their nominations for the 2012 Cyburbian Death Pool. The rules remain the same.....submit 10 names of well-known folks that you think will dance with death in Year 2012. You may submit an 11th name as an "alternate", in case one of your picks decides to dance in late Year 2011.

This thread will, with the help of Big Brother, self-destruct after Midnight on New Year's Eve. When the death list starts anew in Year 2012, somebody will start an update thread. This Bear will keep score, providing periodic updates.

We Cyburbians really suck at this game. There are a number of web sites that can assist you in remembering some names of folks who may join the death dance in the coming year. Or, you can just take wild-ass guesses. Now start digging! The situation is grave!

Oh goody, a new theme! Let's see, last year I believe you picked only political figures, Hink was heavy on old sitcom actors, and Veloise seemed to have a disturbing penchant for "Dicks". I'm just not as creative as y'all...

Trust me, if I'd had any luck with politicians last year, I would have as many presidential candidates on the list for this year as possible. Mostly from the red and blue, but I wouldn't mind throwing a Libertarian, Socialist or Green Party in there either.

It seems a bit unfair to pick any Gaddafi relatives... kind of like picking someone that is already on death row & scheduled for execution. So avoiding them, here's my list:

    1. Billy Graham, evangelist and pretty much the opposite of the next one...
    2. Fred Phelps, "religious" piece of s*** pastor that is going straight to hell
    3. Fidel Castro, politics (Cuba)
    4. Nancy Reagan, widow of former President Ronald Reagan
    5. Prince Phillip, politics (England)
    6. Zsa Zsa Gabor, actress
    7. Luise Rainer, actress
    8. Kirk Douglas, actor
    9. Joe Paterno, ex Penn State football coach
    10. Kim Jong Il, politics (North Korea)

    Alternate:
Dick Clark, radio & TV personality
    Mikhail Gorbachev, Soviet leader

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

This is a pointless exercise, what with the apocalypse coming and all. But, on the off chance that humanity survives to 2013:

    - Kirk Douglas
    - Nancy Raygun
    - Jonathan Winters
    - Maurice Sendak
    - Etta James
    - Robert Bork
    - Nelson Mandela
    - Fidel Castro
    - Bruce Vilanch
    - Robert Mugabe

    Alternate: Lewis Black

Maybe I'll actually get one this year.

Stand back -- we have a winner

After intense hours of research, my choices for those eating the big dirt-burger sandwich in the year of our lord 2012:

Abigail Van Buren ("Dear Abby - My wife has lately been acting strangely...")
Dr. Joyce Brothers (Self appointed know-it-all)
Professor Irwin Corey (The World's Foremost Authority)
    Casey Kasem (Thinks he's a music know-it-all)
    Mark Russell (Political commentator dude)
Mike Wallace (60 Minutes talking face)
    Helen Thomas (Old-butt journalist)
    Phyllis Schlafly (Social jerk off)
Noam Chomsky (Universal Grammar? Give me a break)
    Ray Price (Country Western singer)

Alternates, in the event one of the above cash in their chips before the end of the year....

    1. Lyndon LaRouche (Political screw head jerk off)
    2. Ed Koch (Former NYC mayor)

Professor Corey: Your first question is "Why?". That's a very deep philosophical question and we don't have time to go into that. Your second question is "Do I wear tennis shoes with a suit?". The answer is yes.

Anybody needing help to correct their list ?

    Here is a list: http://www.usatoday.com/NEWS/usaedit...ience_ST_U.htm
    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
