Wow, that's pretty horrible that your supervisor won't go to bat for you when it comes to jerks like that. Best of luck with your search moving forward.

I'm in a 90ish year old general hospital and it does not have heat either. Our file storage is where they kept the freshly dead. So far I have not seen any ghosts, but I'm always on the lookout.

We are in a building built in the last 5 years, and yet "Hal", our climate control bot, does not understand how to make it comfortable, and it seems that when it is cold, it is COLD, and when it is hot, it is HOT....

One of our buildings is like that, and another is all new and modern with a good HVAC system. I get cold in the older building during winter, but most people on this site would think I'm crazy (since Southern California does not get cold temps).

I totally forgot that today is my Friday I'm going on a family vacation starting tomorrow up near raf's area.
    And that concludes staff’s presentation...

A friend sent me a text message showing the deer he shot at his camp in the middle of the UP. I replied by asking if cell phones defeat the purpose of deer camp. I noted he also posted the pic on facebook and twitter.

I remember a time when going to deer camp resulted in no contact with modern conviences or contact with the outside world. Now they have satellite TV's and indoor plumbing. Just wrong...

    Oh crap! Good luck!
I'm sorry. Is my bias showing?

Let's not be didactic in this profession, because that is a path to disillusion and irrelevancy.

Shhhhhh! Kids, don't wake mommy! Look how peacefully she is sleeping there on the couch -- all tuckered out from pointlessly yelling at me! That's adorable!

But at least she is sleeping now, and I am working again - or at least reading and posting on Cyburbia which is good for the soul.

PS, Dandy, sorry about the "Boss" thing, I believe the only appropriate response is the one you're having. Followed by subtle revenge.

PSS, btrage, sorry about the "shrinkage" thing. It sounds like you have a good attitude at least. I embrace shrinkage when it comes.

Hubby and I talked about such things this afternoon. Sadly our town is so small that the only way this would happen would be if we left the area.

He ran for a political position., lost, and the Mayor re-hired him.

I think some staff would've been happy to have me stay at the helm and others (or one in particular who is the cause for me tears) is ecstatic that he's back.

Thanks for the suggestion. At the moment I'm taking more of a passive-aggressive route.

That sux. We just got a new boss. Take a look at some of my comments about managers to get an idea how I feel about that....

Good bosses seem to not be popular among electeds lately.

Because they have a shelf life of "forever," what will we do if there's a nuclear winter and there are no Twinkies?
What will you ganja smokers do when you get the munchies and there are not Twinkies?
