I once won a 3-night stay at a Great Wolf Lodge through our state's statewide economic development corporation. This was before I had any kids and my wife and I decided we would have felt a bit creepy going to Great Wolf without any so we gave them to some friends who did have kids. They never officially thanked us for those vouchers, and from what I understand from talking to them after their trip, I don't expect a thank you to be forthcoming. The reports I've heard from people who have gone do not make it sound like a place I would enjoy.

Our hot tub is being repaired and so is drained. When I got out of bed this morning I wandered over to the slider going out to the deck to see how much damage there had been from last night's storm. I expected to see, and did see, plants knocked over, the deck furniture askew, and pine needeles all over the deck. But as an extra added attraction the top had blown off the tub. There was about a foot of water in the tub, along with about 1.3 - 1.4 million pine needles and an abundance of twigs, leaves, and dirt. Cleaning it out was an invigorating start to the day.
I don't really take to bummer hot tub stories, it just doesn't work...firstworldproblems#

I think I've determined that there's nothing harder than telling a 25+ year, exemplary employee, that their position is going to be likely cut to part time in the upcoming budget.
First time I've had to do something like this as a director, and I think the employee handled it better than I did. (I had given my staff a heads up a few weeks ago that cuts were a coming from upstairs...)
Still...it sucks.

....then your kids will have a blast????
As a parent of younger kids, you don't really have a whole lot of time to relax. But if your kids like water, they will thoroughly enjoy themselves.
It's a bit on the pricey side though, IMO. But overall, the one in Traverse City is nice. Can't speak for any others.
