This represents four seperate random thoughts. Please try to spread them around more into individual posts. OTOH, they are truly random and you are to be commended for that.

Tonight's city council meeting is over. I nodded twice: that was the extent of my participation in the meeting. All in all, a good night.

Did you get a nod back, or was it dirty looks. Anytime I nod I usually get a dirty look.... maybe it is how I nod

    Wow -

Today Nov. 27, 2012, marks the 70th birthday of the late Jimi Hendrix.
    Oddball
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

It's probably the wink and leer, not the nod.

When people die young, it's virtually impossible to imagine them any older, let alone as senior citizens!

An acquaintance was in his early thirties when he was murdered during an apparent mugging. I remember saying at the time that we'll always remember him at that age... fixed in time.

That would explain the steady stream of Hendrix being played at the coffee shop this morning.

That's an interesting point. I think we might have even discussed it before, but what would have happened if Jimi had not OD'ed in his late 20's?
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

He probably would have put out some "soft" rock albums and made us all not love him as much.

I think a collaboration album with either Kenny G or Zamfir was inevitable (and I suspect Thomas Kinkade would have supplied the album cover art). It's best that things worked out the way they did.

I wonder how nods are acknowledged in the minutes, if they're verbatim.

I feel like I miss the joke of not wearing pants (though I laugh anyway but I don't think I am laughing at it the way it's meant to be?) - what is this from - a movie, tv show?

We went to see Skyfall last night. I really liked it... lots of action, and a much better story than the last Bond movie. Javier Bardem makes an intriguing villain.

I recognized one of the filming locations: Glencoe, in Scotland. It was funny - as soon as I saw it, I knew exactly where they were. *sigh* Someday I want to go back there.

When I have a head cold, I find that the more I get away from my desk and interact with people, the better I feel. But I suppose that's not necessarily good for those I'm interacting with.

Yeah, there's some problems with Apple Maps. Confirmed on my iPhone 4S.

If the nod is returned, the minutes should say "dually nodded" otherwise they're nod acknowledged.
