Zombies don't need much sleep either. Maybe Otis is a zombie! Not that there's anything wrong with that.

We recently had pasta with brie and broccoli and it was quite tasty. It was a new recipe and may become s keeper.

I'm not looking forward to going to the store this morning to exchange a couple of ZG's Christmas gifts.

My brother made ham and brie on sourdough wheat bread sandwiches for his dinner.

I like the sourdough wheat bread you can get in California.

My nephew invited me up to my parents' house for a snowball fight. I think I'll go.

This sounds quite tasty! Care to share the recipe??

I worked yesterday simply because I had a few reports to edit. Spent most of the day not working, but I have to say it was a good day. Only 1/2 of the cubes were full, so no need for the ipod and noise-canceling earphones. After an easy commute home, we had a tasty dinner and watched a movie. Night quiet Friday night for the old married folks.

Today is cold but sunny. I'm waiting for afternoon to hit the store and then a few errands. Tomorrow may be a slow, get all the inside chores done kind of day - like putting away the decorations. Always takes longer than putting them up, for some reason.

"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

I have mis-placed some ancestry photos of my parents and others. Time to crank up the old computer in the basement.

My surname derives from the stuff trees are made of, so while not as common as jones or smith, its not unique like say fezziwig. I've been able to track that line to North Carolina c.1790 or 1800, but have run into a brick wall since. I considered hiring a pro recommended by ancestry.com but the minimum $3000 price tag was too steep for me at this time.

I want snow. It seems really cold out here (at least to what I'm used to), but I don't have the nostalgia of a snow covered house. Instead I just have a shivering walk with my dog.
    And that concludes staff’s presentation...

I like snow for the first two days and then it just becomes a hindrance.
