People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

I think the mental hospital someone mentioned closed a long time ago and is being redeveloped into a mixed-use campus or something.
The mother of one of my high school friends was a patient there for a while. But that was in the 1960's, so it could well be long gone, and probably should be.

I like it too. The walls were white so this is a bit of a stretch for us. We've had the house for 5 years but haven't had the nerve to paint. I like this grey because depending on the lighting it can take on either a blueish or greenish tint/shade/hue/feel.

Time to head out in the drizzle and cold!

Hopefully most people didn't go to work today, so the drive home won't be so bad.
"We do not need any other Tutankhamun's tomb with all its treasures. We need context. We need understanding. We need knowledge of historical events to tie them together. We don't know much. Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

The Carolina Chickadees crack me up. I just came in from putting a fresh gallon of black sunflower seed out and as soon as he saw me, he was chirping and singing like mad: "Dudes! Dudes! The food guy's putting out food! DUDES!"
    Batter up!

They finally fired Norv Turner too. I've been hearing some rumours that Reid is a possible replacement for him.

My cat is sitting on the desk staring at me. She's made because I wasn't lying on the couch all day so she hasn't had a proper amount of snuggles. She's got a little pink nosy.
