Went to MerleFest a couple times (its only 30/40 miles away). To watch Doc pick & play was great. His fingers were a blur on the strings.

I liked him better as Newkirk on Hogan's Heroes over as gameshow host on Family Feud.

[QUOTE=Dan;633664]No more trololololololololololo. Eduard Khil dead at 77.
I just read online about how the 'trololo' song came to pass - Soviet censors didn't like the words of the song he was going to sing because they painted a favorably sentimental picture of the US, so instead of changing the words he just trololo'ed nonsense syllables to the melody.
I have to admit it was a little more fun not knowing what the deal with the trololo song was
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

kjel has dominated this contest. She won in 2010 and 2011 and leads us "dead end kids" at the nearly-half-way mark in 2012.
Note: If this Bear moderates the 2013 Poll I will clarify a couple things. The nomination thread will close at Midnight, Pacific Time (rather than Eastern Time). This year I allowed a couple after-midnighters. Also, submitters will only be allowed one ALTERNATE PICK. Of course, this puts more pressure on submitters to enter the fray at a date and time closer to the last hours of the year. If somebody else moderates, do what ya want.
