Meet the missing emoticons of Cyburbia

A little bit of hidden Cyburbia history: some emoticons that we once considered adding to the board, but just kind of felt "meh" about.

I vote for adding both guns AND the sickle & hammer (because we're all a buch of commie planners).

And is that Hank Hill I see!!! We NEED Hank! That boy ain't right...

Personally, I like the State emoticons. I would love one for Ohio. American flag would get overused in the Political Thread I know I would over use the throne... not sure how yet, but I would.

Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.

Heh... there a marijuana emoticon... heh...
You get all squeezed up inside/Like the days were carved in stone/You get all wired up inside/And it's bad to be alone

You can go out, you can take a ride/And when you get out on your own/You get all smoothed out inside/And it's good to be alone

I like the state emoticons too. I always thought we should have maybe a dozen, namely the big populous ones with a lot of Cyburbians that either currently live there or used to live there (CA, TX, NY, FL, IL, OH, PA, NJ, NC, VA, MI, WI).

I can see why the guns wouldn't be allowed...some people might take it too far.

I thought we had a lot of the hand emoticons, but you must have gotten rid of them. The one pointing up always looked like someone flipping the bird to me.

Good idea, but don't forget MA. Or maybe we could vote for the top 12 or something.

The face next to the shamrock actually looks like Maister in real life! That is freaky.

I would use the guns, the american flag, and the MI emoticons.

You could also have a generic rectangle state that could be any number of western plains states.

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

I also like the idea of adding a few more state outlines, as well as a 'thumbs up' and a 'thumbs down'. Howabout a whiskey bottle pouring into a shot glass as well?

And USA and Mexican flags to 'balance' the Canadian one, too.

Did the emoticons vanish because the site was botoxed?

That's because it is Maister in real life.

If some of the missing emoticons were used - imagine the possibilities.

Now that I know it is out there, I'm not sure I can go on without that fishy emoticon.

I like the middle finger emoticons...that won't hurt anyone's feelings if its used.

I miss The One on the boards. No one abused emoticons like him.

Why is the facepalm one not used?

I'd put a facepalm emoticon here to express my feelings, but there isn't one

I am fairly sure I would use the Ron Swanson emoticon a lot. I am pretty glad we don't have it actually.

Oh yeah, I would definitely use that one. Well, maybe just a whiskey bottle.

    There's a facepalm one.

Although, at first, it didn't look like a facepalm to me...it looked like something more profane.
