    $35.23 of 'mad money'

If you suddenly (and unexpectedly) found yourself in posession of a whopping $35.23, how would you 'splurge'? We don't wanna hear anything about buying savings bonds for your grandkids or upgrading your Quicken Tax program. No, nothing responsible. We're talking about pissing it away frivolously! Go.

Go to the movies and have popcorn and soda.

    Go out for ice cream.

Buy some poweball tickets - the jackpot is only 310.

Or the Indian restaurant. You can get a ton of food for $35!

Or you can send it to me, and I'll spend it at the Indian restaurant.

Take the 23 cents and put it in the "Need a penny Take a penny" bowl at your favorite C-store. Take the $35, put it in an envelope and mail it to me. I'll figure something out and let you know.

What part of pissing it away frivilously don't you people understand? OK, the beer might be literally pissing it away, but it's still not frivilous. These things you have listed all are essentials. Not a bit of frivolity among 'em. Now get back in there and try harder. Sheesh.

Thanks, CPSURaf. I've been stumped about what to get my wife for Valentine's Day!

$35 will get you a bottle of some decent single malt.

Well, my usual answer to this sort of question is "hookers and blow", but $35 and change won't go far in that direction.

I'd probably be down at the bookstore, picking out a couple of cookbooks. Not that I need any more. I just like them a lot.
