I have to say there were several good games this weekend (and a few blowouts too).

With the number of upsets, I do not think there can be a perfect bracket left in anybody's pool.

    Wisconsin-Whitewater wins Division III

Not only is Wisconsin sending the Badgers and the Warriors to the Mens' Division I 'Sweet Sixteen™', but the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks just defeated Cabrini College for the Division III Mens' basketball championship, outlasting the Cavaliers 63-60 on Saturday (2012-03-17) in Salem, VA.

BTW, the Warhawks are dominant in football, too, they've won the Amos Alonso Stagg Bowl (the Division III championship game) three years in a row and four out of the past five years!

(Also, the only team to go undefeated in all of NCAA Mens' basketball in the 2005-2006 regular season (yea, a few years ago) was Division III Lawrence, located here in Appleton.)

Well, one of my Final Four is now out. In fact, I had Michigan State in the Championship game.

ugh...I went for a 2 mile run at halftime, hoping things would get better. They didn't. With a program like State's, you never like leaving the tourney, but we far exceeded expectations this year, considering we weren't even ranked to start the season. So long Day Day.

I know it's a cliche but I think it was true this year that State was "playing above their ability". And even though I'm not generally an MSU fan, it was rough watching them last night - they just looked sloppy and not at all like a #1 seed.

I've never seen another State team under Izzo that was such Jeckyl and Hyde. I'm convinced they could've beat any team in the country on any given night. At the same time, they could've lost to some crappy teams as well. Not that Louisvile is a crappy team. Such an inconsistent team.

Wow my bracket for the south and Midwest bit the big one!

If you had told me before the game that my Hoosiers would shoot 52% from the field and score 90, I'd have bet the farm we would be in the Elite Eight. Ah, well, at least Indiana is relevant in hoops after our long walk in the woods.

So I have been gone a week, so I couldn't trash talk, nearly as much as I wanted, but seriously, I have a lot to trash talk about. Ohio State is playing really well (later Syracuse), my state had 4 teams in, the Big 10 had 4 teams in, and all looked good. Although it seems that after the sweet 16 there is less to be excited about. I still think my Kentucky v. Ohio State final game will be amazing.

We shall see if NC or Kansas make the final four and if Kentucky can beat Baylor....

    F-IN-A

    F-in Syracuse!!! WTF!!!!

The frigging coach came on after their last win tlking about how it was great they made it into the playoffs and should be happy with that - basically admitting they are about to choke on their next game - HE ALWAYS DOES THIS!!!!!!

    Kentucky win was boring.

Kansas win was great! First half was awful for both teams, but the second half was all Jayhawks!

This girl picked the final game correctly in my office bracket! Although I did so poorly getting there that there is no way to win. I can take solace that I got at least the final two correct though

BTW-Winner Kentucky with 152 pts. scored total, you heard it here first.

If KU wins I come in 4 or 5 out of 220+ entries in the office pool.

Wow was that a boring Championship game....

Kentucky was so much better than Kansas it wasn't fun to watch. Sad the Buckeye's couldn't finish the Kansas game because they would have been a much better match up to watch....

Ahh well, there is always next year right? Well unless you are Kentucky where all the kids are leaving for the NBA after one year

True, but what program wouldn't love to have that problem? I don't like how people fault Calipari for recruiting one-and-done players, it just comes off to me as bitterness from UK haters and opposing fans. And sorry but I think Kentucky would've beat OSU just as badly..

It would have been a much better game. Kentucky might have won, but it wouldn't have been nearly as lopsided.

As for Calipari, it has nothing to do with Kentucky. I met him in 2000 and have had the same feeling towards him, since then. He is what is wrong with the NCAA. He doesn't run clean programs, and he does whatever it takes to win. Which I find deplorable (even when Ohio State coaches do it...).

I am happy for Kentucky. They are a great program, and those kids are great kids. Anthony Davis is the best player in the nation by far. I just hope we don't find out in two years that Cal was cheating the system and get yet another winning season thrown out.

I think this season taught us two things: 1. The NBA needs to move it to 3 years in college before you are allowed to enter, 2. Academic standards need to be raised and all athletes (including you guys at UCONN, need to meet them).

Kentucky's team this year makes all the argument for removing the one and done rule, and UCONN shows why college basketball isn't about Student-Athletes anymore.
