    Your Bucket List

I was informed today that I've paid off my student loan. Scratch that off my bucket list.

Like otterpop, pay off student loan debt (don't want to burden my kin with that)
Visit all 50 states. So far I've only visited about 20. (of course there are certain states that I haven't been to that I'd like to see more than others, among them HI, AK, WA, OR, CA, AZ, SD, TX, LA, GA, SC, NY, NJ, MA, ME)
Explore parts of Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and South America
Active performers to see in concert: Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers
Active performers that I hope will reunite so that I can see them in concert: the Original GN'R or at least the Use Your Illusion-era GN'R
See Chicago Bulls, Blackhawks, and Bears games
Famous people I want to meet: George W. Bush, Steven Tyler
Become a planner for a local government and earn a resonable living
    Buy a Ford F-150
    Get married
    Have kids
    Buy a house

That's all I can think of for now.

    Build my own (modest) home
Live for a year without electricity
    Travel (especially South America)
    Not work for a year
    Bike across the country

Some could be consolidated - not work for a year while I build my home without electricity, for example...

That was my goal for when I was home on FML after my daughter was born. Needless to say, that didn't happen. But I am going to put a "banjo" on my birthday wish list.

    For my bucket list:
Visit Antarctica (it's the only continent I have not been to)
Drive from coast to coast in my Jeep with the top down (and preferably with the doors off)
Run a marathon in less than 3.5 hours
    Bowl a 600 series
    Have fun with my daughter

I like how you set...achievable life goals. This is the key to a satisfying existence. But still, you might want to throw caution to the wind for once and put something really outrageous on your list like watch the next three Superbowls in a row! or make that long dreamed of trek to a town on the other side of the state using not the interstate, but old state highways all the way. Live life on the edge for a change.

I think this should be called the Never-Ending Bucket List Thread. Just sayin'.

I came up with one for the list the other day:

Visit Kearney, Nebraska to watch the Sandhill Crane migration.

Since I inadvertently got the thread going, I will play to:

    Visit New Zealand.
    Finish my novel.
Fix the broken light fixtures in my house.
Visit Tombstone, AZ and Hannibal, MO.

Visit all 50 states (getting close!)
Fully participate in a triathlon (this was supposed to be by Y35 but looking like I'll just be part of a team)
Travel as much and as often as I can afford. Must visits include - Kenya, South Africa, Japan, Australia, NZ, Russia, and the Galapagos.
Get my picture taken with a living baby seal in Canada.
Volunteer at an animal/marine conservation organization in a foreign country.

Like kj I've been blessed to experience a lot in my life thus far and I hope to continue to be as lucky.

Back in central FL, the golf course a few blocks from my house was crawling with sandhill cranes. One pair spent a good part of the year visiting my back yard with their babies. I have no idea why. They have an incredibly loud call when they are flying and it used to freak my mom out (well, when she had her hearing aid in).

I would like to finish my 50 states list: only Utah, Alaska, and Hawaii to go.

Visit Spain, Portugal, and revisit some countries outside of the big cities: Great Britain, Italy, France, Switzerland. And maybe do one of those cooking school vacations in Italy.

Figure out how my mom made mashed potatoes without a single lump.

Spend a week in a condo or house right on a really nice beach.

See the wild ponies on the Outer Banks.

    See King Tut's treasure.

Take the train trip across Canada.
