Journey to the Center of the Mind - The Amboy Dukes (anyone recognize the young man who is the lead guitarist?)
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

    If

This Bear owned the first album from this progressive jazz/rock band. If did release a few more albums (early 1970s) but eventually most of their talented musicians moved on to other bands. This tune is from that first album.

    Boom Boom Boom Boom

Thought about posting the original John Hooker version of "Boom Boom". But I wore the hell out of this CCS album in the 1970s and really dig this take.

Also Spracht Zarathustra (2001 Space Odyssey theme) Eumir Deodato's jazz version. You may recall hearing part of this tune as it was featured in the Peter Sellers movie 'Being There'. The song starts after the opening chord about 42 seconds in. Enjoy.

ofos reminded me that ZZ top were badasses. So in honor of that fact, I thought I'd feature my favorite ZZ song (and it's not one of their biggest hits, just straight honest blues) -

As a somewhat unusual aside, I was watching a Bob the Builder video with my son a couple of years ago (something like Bob the Builder Out West, or some such) and I noticed in the credits that Suzi Quatro voicecd one of the characters

Ms Quatro for the record is a Michigan native
