Alberto has formed in the Atlantic. It will not impact us. Looks like rain events mostly for Cyburbians on the eastern seaboard. Stay safe, folks.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
From Kelly's Heroes (1970)
Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

2 storms possibly forming before the "official" start of the season, lets hope the start of the season doesn't mean the rest of the season will be busy. Now that I live on the Gulf Coast I will be watching the tropics much closer.![]()
You folks on the First Coast, stay safe....

Just checked in with parents and sibs who all live in the Jax area and it's quite stormy, some have lost power....it's going to be a long night!

She's going west. Good luck all ya'll. Well, you need the rain.

Debby doesn't seem to know where she wants to go...typical woman. In any case, ZG and I went to Sam's club and stocked up on water and wine. We also brought in the loose stuff from the yard. Heavy rains and winds have been off and on during the day. Now we're headed to take a hot shower together. I know, TMI.... Stay cool everybody...it's all good.

A change in the direction. Debby is coming directly at us. Our EOC opened 30 minutes ago. This week will not be fun.

Got hit with Typhoon Guchol last week. That was fun...
My hometown has gotten 15" of rain in places. Mom didn't go to church yesterday and I have not reached her this morning.

Debby is slowly moving east. Our EOC is on stand down. Rain and winds for most of the day. We dodged it. Our neighbors to the east are not so lucky. They are getting lots and lots of rain, heavy winds, and flooding.

Ernesto has formed. At this point, we're out of the cone of uncertainty. But it's early in the forecast. No need at this time to stock up on wine and water.

I really hope Ernesto will not come visit me while I'm on the gulfcoast beach all next week.

It's early in the forecast, but it looks like Isaac is on his way to Florida. In fact, he could hit Tampa during the Republican National Convention. Several tracks take him to the panhandle. Again, it's early. Plenty of time to plan ahead. We'll get a better picture this weekend.
But just in case, I'm headed to Sam's Club tomorrow to load up on wine and water. Life's essentials, I say.

My chief planner, the rarely seen PlanIcan is headed to ... Gulf Shores, AL next week. We've been through the sustained 75MPH winds of Ike hereabouts, so Isaac won't be trifled with if he makes landfall in the central Gulf.![]()

Based on the current forecast, you may not have much contact from us after Tuesday afternoon. The center of the current cone has it coming right at us--or slightly to the west. ZG is making the list. She has much more experience at this than me. Lots of work to be completed this weekend including another trip to Sam's Club for provisions.
But it's still early....

Started the storm prep today, cleaning up fallen branches from the yard, and starting to trim back 4 holly trees that some idiot former owner planted way too close to the front windows. If Isaac doesn't fizzle out overnight, the real run on provisions, including gas, will start up tomorrow. We'll need to get out early to avoid lines for gas.
The comment from JackTorrnace237 over at SFGate:
The hurricanes are nothing to be tread lightly. When I lived in the Puerto ricos these things would come out of nowhere one minute you're sitting on the beach with nice sunshine and the next minute the waives come and almost take you in that with the winds.![]()

Anyway, Zg mentioned that we are getting prepared for the worst here on the panhandle. The irony is Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be great in terms of weather. We'll get the heavy lifting completed before we get some pool sun time. I need to add some chems to the pool, too.![]()
