    Magic tricks, lame or otherwise

Do you know any magic tricks that you occasionally perform impromptu? You know, like when someone breaks out a deck of cards and you say "pick a card, any card" or reach behind a child's ear and make a quarter magically appear? What is the extent of your study of magic (or as Doug Henning used to say, the 'art of illusion')
Who are your favorite magicians? (personally, my favorite are those two anti-magicians known as Penn & Teller)

People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

I'm not much of a fan of magicians, although my kid dabbles, mainly in card tricks. He's actually pretty good. His favorite magician is Criss Angel. It all started when he was 7 or 8 and my mom gave him a magic kit; he loved to do magic shows for us.
