MIT DUSP- should be out Monday or Tuesday

Hey everyone fretting about MIT: I called admissions about a week-and-a-half ago (got accepted + stipend at UBC Geography (urban geography) with a deadline of March 10th- luckily got extension to March 20th) to see when they were planning on releasing admissions information.

They said Monday or Tuesday of next week (11th, 12th) ***probably*** (please don't frantically call/email department if you don't hear back on Monday or Tuesday.. or even for the rest of the week for that matter!). On Monday/Tuesday, check gradcafe and see if results start coming out. Then you know!

So, until then: relax, kick back, and try not to worry too much.

GL to everyone out there who is still fretting, congrats to those who got into the program they were after, and a big hug to those of you who didn't. In the end, everything will work out : )

    Rutgers

I just got an email from Rutgers saying I'm in! No word on funding yet. This has been a fantastic week: three acceptances and a snow day!

Shockingly, I got into Rutgers. Why is this shocking. I didn't send them a transcript.

    No word on funding.

I got an email saying to check the attached letter.

    Rutgers

To the folks who got accepted to Rutgers - did your status change from "No decision" to something else on their website?

I also got the acceptance email from UNC. The open house for admitted students is March 22-23.

    It is ok

Allygo, sorry you have no heard. The wait can be hard. We are here to support you. Hopefully you get some news. If you applied for NYU, they have a firm date posted on their website which is tomorrow, so you will probably hear from them tomorrow.
Where are you waiting to hear from?

Thanks Queenducky, I appreciate your reply. I've applied to UCLA, NYU, and Rutgers. I was pretty confident in my chances at each school but now I'm becoming concerned. It seems like everyone who's heard from UCLA got an acceptance and there were no rejections.

Hey allygo - I actually applied to all the same schools and haven't heard back from any of them either...so I know how you're feeling. It seems like Rutgers and UCLA send their decisions out in waves, so we just have to be patient and hope for the best.

Just those 3 schools, and UC Berkeley which I was rejected from. Wish I applied to a couple more schools.

Good choices.. I didn't bother applying to Cal because of the 10% admission rate and the probably true myth that it's extra hard to get into grad school there if you went there for undergrad

My understanding is that NYU's admission decisions will be released friday (tomorrow.) I'm waiting to hear back from them as well.

Although I'm glad to say I've gotten good news from both UT Austin and Cornell and now, like Coin, I too am having a hard time weighing them against each other.

Accepted to UPenn and University of Michigan

I received an e-mail from John Landis on Feb. 23rd informing me of my acceptance into their MCP program. As others have said, waiting for financial aid information to be posted on March 14th.

I received a call from on February 20th from a faculty member informing me of my acceptance to UMich into their MUP program. I received my official admission letter today with funding. I received a scholarship but had hoped for more. Planning to attend their preview weekend in a couple weeks.

Anyone know what UPenn's scholarships have been like in years past? Are they typically more generous than public universities?

    Pending:

    Illinois
    Maryland
    Rutgers

    Go Bears

I hoped NYU would send out notices sooner but I guess we have to wait until tomorrow. And I think they're having an open house March 11

    UM Funding

I received my package from UM as well- $9,000 for one year. Now, I just need to fund the remaining $23,000 a semester!

    Cal Poly Pomona MURP

For anyone who applied to Cal Poly Pomona's MURP Program:

I spoke with Hersh Farberow yesterday (the Graduate Coordinator). He informed me that they are wrapping up the application review process and are planning to have decisions sent out through email by the end of next week.

Here's hoping they meet that deadline! All the waiting has really been stressing me out... its nice to know it will soon be coming to an end.

Queenducky, certain schools like NYU for sure and possibly Rutgers don't require official transcripts until after you get accepted. At that point they want the official transcripts to make sure they match up with the unofficial transcripts that you uploaded.

So it looks like a lot of us rec'd the same package. $9k the first year and $18k the second. I'm really disappointed. They could easily give more. Oh well, I guess I'll wait until the 14th and hope Penn stuns me with a generous aid package...

Frankly, I wasn't too jazzed about two years in Ann Arbor anyway.
