About every other year my wife and my son go to spend a month with her family. Being that I am an introvert, I find the first two weeks of alone time to be blissful. Being able to do what I want. Eat what I want. Go to bed when I want. And silence. Hours and hours of quiet reflection and solitude.
Then I start to miss them. By the time they get back I am thankful they are back and thankful for the time I got to decompress alone.

I voted "whatever" because this is transitional and things will work out. Yes, it is the suxxor right now, but it won't last and that's what matters. I know you have a goal -- even if you can't yet define it -- but you are working toward it and it will come. Stay the course and get to your goal. It will be worth it for everybody.

It sucks when you have a family but hopefully it's not a long lasting arrangement. Staring down at an empty nest, I got a cat. Now I have a baby and man lol.

8 months sucked. Weekends I didn't drive 7 hours home were incredibly long.
I only did about 30 days last summer without the familly. But I still saw them every weekend. I enjoyed the small break.
