We hope for better things; it will arise from the ashes - Fr Gabriel Richard 1805
I love sleeping during the cool night. I leave a window open, add an extra blanket, get the Luke dog to lay on top of me, and get the Lizzy dog to lay by my side. Nice and toasty warm.
Anyone want to adopt a dog?
Totally agree. It's here. We had a low of 66°F this morning. Buurrrrr.....

The first sign of fall in FL is when Publix has soup on sale in their weekly ad.
Fall has arrived. I know when I start using the comforter in bed at night.

Fall is non-existent here. Case in point, my mulberry tree didn't drop its leaves till January last year. I miss seeing all the colors of northern California during fall and feeling the crisp air and the cooler nights.
On the plus side, Fall is great beach weather here and less tourists![]()

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

We are contemplating planting some fruit trees this fall.
We found these amazing dwarf apple trees that have 3 types of apples grafted to them. We also found a grafted fruit medley tree consisting of peaches, nectarines, and apricots. The only major concern with planting these is figuring out how to keep the deer from munching away on them too much. Any tips out there?

How come my wife begs me to turn the thermostat to 62º in the middle of summer but if I leave it set at that in the fall I get yelled at?![]()

Last week, we turned the downstairs heat on. On Friday, the wife put the heating pads on all the beds. Last night I turned the upstairs heat on.... now it will be in the high 60's to low 70's all week.![]()

The daytime temp in the house has to be below 60 degrees before we'll turn the heat on.
It only got down to 64 degrees overnight in the house.
With the forecast this week, we'll probably get into October without turning the heat on.

Fall is coming here in the emerald triangle. Lots of "seasonal" workers showing up to work up in dem hills.
Children in the back seat can cause accidents - and vice versa.
It was cloudy this a.m. as the weather report said rain was expected between 4 and 5 this afternoon. The clouds parted momentarily and the sky took on a orange-ish/green-ish tint that my daughter called "spooky" and I had to agree. As we drove to school it was sprinkling and moments after I got to work it started thundering and lightning. I don't know how you could miss that huge yellow/red spot on the radar, weatherlady, but you missed it.![]()

Arghh! They're at it again. No, not pirates, it's the media. "Early storm dumps on Midwest".
What part of the midwest? Why it's North Dakota and Minnesota.
a. It's not early for those states.
b. They're not Midwest states.

1. I know autumn has arrived when I see girls wearing flip flops and scarves. That really cracked me up the first time I saw it.
2. I put another blanket on my bed this week, yippie!
3. Don't have to slather my son in sunscreen when he goes outside.
3. Two annual fall festivals coming up, avocado and lemon.
4. And… field trip to the pumpkin patch!
Snowbirds making a racket. Lots of flocks in the air this past week.
