    10. Hubby is working on a playlist [sounds less cool than mix tape] for our road trip to WI for Turkey Day.

Have you not learned anything about women? There is no satisfactory response. There is no reason to try to answer the question. They don't want answers. They want to talk. Sheeesh.

    2. I'm really tired because I stayed up too late reading a book I didn't want to put down.

    6. Saturday we're having dinner with my DH's best buddy... and the buddy's new girlfriend.
    7. It will be interesting to see how they interact... his ex- treated him like dirt.
    8. We both want him to be happy.
    9. Overused expression of the day week month: "The new normal"
    10. This time next week the election will be over and I won't have to endure all the political ads... for awhile.

    1. Getting up this morning was hard. Sugar hangover.
    2. Wife and daughter off to Ohio for a wedding through the weekend. Son and I are “baching” it.
    3. Son’s ambitious homemade “Dalek” project was a huge success. Most did not know it but those who did were super excited (and won him bonus candy)
    4. Just finished some work on my bike. Excited to get it out for a test ride!
    5. Gearing up for some house projects: new counter and sink and wall painting in three rooms. This weekend: Restore!
    6. Now the (ancient) dishwasher is dying. This morning the top rack rusted out and is hanging by just one side. Not good.
    7. Still anxiously awaiting the results of my interview last week. Will know by next Thursday.
    8. I’m glad we live one block away from one of the busiest Halloween streets in our City. Its convenient and I don’t have to participate as a household. It looked exhausting…
    9. My formerly infected thumb (operated on a month ago today) is still numb and tingly at the end. Will it ever be normal? Or is this the new normal?
    10. Enjoying my blue skies but feeling for my East Coast brethren.

    1. I have not been tempted all day to eat the Snickers bar I stole from my son’s Halloween candy, or any of the candy co-workers brought in.
    2. As far as I’m aware I have not been taken over by aliens or visitors from the spirit world.
    3. But if I don’t start craving chocolate soon, I may seek professional assistance.
    4. Only had one cup of coffee this morning… am considering getting a caffeinated beverage of some sort.
    5. Am reading online public scoping comments for a big project… the online submittal process seems to lead to a lot of stream-of-consciousness comments/ramblings.
    6. And a lot of exclamation points, words in all caps, and a few H-bombs.
    7. Apparently my company is “shrinking” the yearly raises for technical staff due to “trends in the industry”… according to my supervisor’s comments it seems to be a new protocol, just in time for my yearly review. Lucky me.
    8. I want to say, “But if all those other companies jumped off a bridge, would we have to jump too?”
    9. But I won’t. I’m grateful that I have a job I like.
    10. Bu maybe I want some chocolate now.

    1. Sam's Club didn't have any day-after Halloween candy on sale.
    2. I hope Publix has some tomorrow.
    3. I inadvertently handed out all of the candy my kid likes and he doesn't like any of the stuff we have left.
    4. His first Halloween, he was a cute little baseball player.
    5. We must have had 100 trick or treaters last night.
    6. Only one kid came back a second time and I gave him extras for "nerve".
    7. RJ is grilling ribs tonight, my favorite meal.
    8. This being the South, we will also have biscuits.
    9. How come the networks aren't really covering "Sandy" areas outside of NY/NJ?
    10. I read that hardly any homeowners in the NE US have flood insurance. Why is that?

    1. It is sooo nice to be able to hear the phone ring once again and have some reasonable expectation it's a friend or family member calling
    2. I had only a small piece of coffee cake this morning and right now I'm hongry
    3. It's okay to experience hunger sometimes
    4. Mrs. Maister called to inquire if I wanted stew for dinner. For some reason stew doesn't sound very good right now
    5. When it comes to keeping papers attached, binder clips are far superior to paper clips
    6. I really don't know very much about the state of Delaware. You almost never hear about Delaware in the news.
    7. That was really two things I covered in #6 above, but I guess I'm making up for it by not really saying anything for #7 here.
    8. Rabbits are fluffy and cute to look at, but I wouldn't want one as a pet
    9. There's a tiny part of my mind that cannot entirely dismiss apocalyptic considerations.
10.I can usually tell when a weather front is moving in. My left foot aches now where I broke it last year whenever there's a strong frontal boundary

    3. I think I'm going to mow the lawn/weeds one last time this weekend.
    4. Hoping the super cold weather stays away so we can still get our fence up.
    5. Making Italian sausage/hot dogs for dinner tonight.
    6. Leftover chili for lunch.
    7. Frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich for breakfast.
    8. I generally enjoy the smell of fireplaces/camp fires/outdoor type fires.
    9. But when people burn leaves it messes with my nose.
    10. My dog thoroughly enjoys having his ears scratched.
