    1. It's Valentines Day, but here at work it certainly doesn't feel like it
    2. all our neighbors used to have dogs. Now none do (us included)
    3. It's interesting how one person's absence in the FAC can alter its tone so much
    4. Junior bought a super big Valentines card last night at the drug store (like 2' x 3') for his mommy
    5. I'm not sure if there's going to be enough snow/ice for good tobogganing this weekend
    6. I had peanut butter toast for breakfast this morning.
    7. The concept of romantic love is kinda strange if you think about it
    8. We froze some fried chicken from Frankenmuth when we visited there this summer. We'll have it for dinner tonite
    9. Tonight is a very good night not to go out to a restaurant IMO
    10. I really like that board game "Ticket to Ride"
    People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

    1. Today is Lupercalia.
    2. I don't like that as I've grown up I've gotten lazier about some things.
    3. I'm still struggling to live in the moment.

    1) Happy Valentine's Day, including you JNA, you ol' humbug!
    2) LP will abstain from posting during Lent: the woman has willpower to spare.
    3) Today's breakfast was Samuel Rosen's Jewish Rye toasted with whipped butter. My favorite.
    4) Our lawsuit against the County has a new attorney. Consider me a happy planning director.
    5) Lots on the agenda for this month's planning commission meeting...
    6) Which happens to be the same night as my Hoosiers v. Sparty in the Izzone
    7) I'll be recording that one for sure.
    8) Forgot to take Zyrtec this morning. My nose is running like a diesel.
    9) My son's pack are heading out after school for Valentine's. This is a first, but apparently his object of desire is amongst those going....
    10) Is there any bureaucracy more obstinate than a railroad? Not in my experience...

    2. I struggle relating to people who have bouts of depression or pessimism.
    3. The girls have a 4-day weekend.
    4. I have a 3-day weekend.
    5. I may take tomorrow off and make it a 4-day weekend.
    6. My wife has out of the blue decided she wants to go for Disney for Spring Break.
    7. It may turn into just a girls trip as I'm already taking time off to go to California this summer.
    8. I don't think my wife believes she's as attractive as she it.
    9. It's days like today that I make sure she knows.

    2. I made reservations to Eleven Madison Park for our NYC trip in March.
    3. I realized how much that meal is going to cost me after I made the reservations.
    4. I am looking forward to whatever comes my way next.

    1. School is out tomorrow and Monday for "mid-winter break"
    2. We didn't get no 'mid-winter breaks' when I was a kid. No sir. We got up before the crack of dawn, did our chores and went to school all day. Then we did more chores. And we liked it.
    3. Pizza night tonight!!! Chicago style!!!! Pepperoni and sausage!!!!!
    4. I will probably have to fire one of my actors tomorrow night. Not looking forward to that
    5. My favorite tv show now is Elementary and it's on tonite
    6. Mrs. Maister bought me a special banana nut bread flavored beer I'd never heard of before that I'll try tonight
    7. "They" say were supposed to get a "blizzard" tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it.

    1. Today was supposed to be my knee surgery.
    2. I think I surprised a few people when I showed up at work.
    3. I didn't tell those folks why I cancelled my surgery.
    4. Knee still hurts.
    5. Walking the dogs this week emphasized what bad condition my knee is in.
    6. Poor doggies have not been getting enough exercise.
    7. There are some domesticated bunnies that some jerk released in our neighborhood.
    8. New renters moved in across the street. I don't like them already.
    9. I felt like Mrs. Kravitz peering out my window at them.
    10. They have a long driveway but they both park in the street.

    ACK! The horrors! Actually, when we walk by the bunnies the dogs don't seem to be too interested. Granted they are on leashes and under my control (HAHHAHAHAHAHA). I'm sure it would be a different story if they were free range and encountered free range bunnies.

    I missed Ten Things Thursday, but today feels like Twenty Thirty Fifty Things Friday (I know, it doesn't have quite the same ring to it). There just aren't enough hours in my day anymore.

    3. Couldn't go back to sleep
    4. Not much on TV at that time
    5. Watched 2 episodes of 'Scrubs' - I miss that show
    6. Need to wash the car today
    7. Presentation today for a trail friendly (for a change) crowd
    8. The EDA continues to try and bypass development regulations
    9. Their reasoning "we need to keep this project confidential"

    2. at long last I get to devise the community garden regs for my community
    3. I predict we will see only one more snowfall where accumulation stays on the ground for more than a couple days.
    4. I am getting antsy about the coming of spring and gardening season.
    5. watched two James Bond films this week - Skyfall and Quantum of Solace. Skyfall was the better of the two
    6. my cell phone (that I use on average maybe once a month for two or three minutes) is dying
    7. drank Strohs and Old Rasputin last night
    8. I still have a bottle of Thomas Hardy ale (2007) in the basement and am debating whether I want to open it this weekend
    9. I wish I had a farmers market within walking distance
    10. I've said it before, but dang, 10 random things is a lot to come up with

    1. CDBG apps were put in the mail this morning.
    2. I would almost be fine with CDBG funding being cut.
    3. Trying to finish one more ZBA staff report.
    4. Agenda packets need to go out this afternoon.
    5. I like Thursday because it's my last "tie" day.
    6. I stopped drinking alcohol on work nights the first of the year.
    7. I've been running on our newly purchased treadmill the last few weeks.
    8. I've also tried to cut back on the amount of soda I drink.
    9. I have no idea if, or how much, weight I've lost.
    10. But my clothes fit better.

    1. Just sent a thinking-of-you card to a friend with breast cancer.
    2. I included a note about how I hoped she will be able to join me for the NOLA HM in 2014.
    3. The card is sealed and in the mail.
    4. I meant to write 2015. Oops.
    5. I'm trying to extend casual Friday into Thursday's when I have no meetings.
    6. All the members of our Ec.Dev. dept have ADHD.
    7. It is a challenge being in a meeting with them.
    8. The Mayor gave me (and other members of our IM Project Team) a shout out in the SOTC last night.
    9. We were the only non-department heads mentioned by name.
    10. I get to have dinner with MP on Sunday.

    2. I have created a colored coated system for our development plans.
    3. The toughest part is remembering what color is what.
    4. I hope I begin to remember them soon.

    6. My old Macintosh survivied college and then some, but it's no longer as peppy as it used to be

    1. Ever notice how some milk chocolate tastes quite yummy and other milk chocolate tastes 'plastic'? (think Hershey bar vs those cheap foil wrapped chocolate easter eggs)
    2. I find Lindt 85% dark chocolate goes a bit too far in the bitterness department to be considered yummy, but 70% is keen
    3. I just used 'keen' in a sentence! It's fun to occasionally throw outdated slang into one's speech
    4. Getting over a really bad cold but I think I am finally feeling well enough to try drinking some beer tonight
    5. I've said it before but it will be nice when LP returns to the FAC, the ecology of the place is affected by her absence
    6. two more weeks and I hope to set up the little greenhouse and start the peas and spinach!
    7. If civilization were to end and it was up to me to reconstruct it, many things would be lost. Among them would be the secret of how to manufacture felt-tipped pens.
    8. For some reason Junior doubts the existence of the Easter Bunny but believes fervently in Santa. Wonder why?
