Boy that is a tough one. I wouldn't want to be anti-American. How could I not support the repeal? I mean if the government needs to have a couple militiamen in my house whenever they want, it seems reasonable that they should be able to.

It's not that I hate the troops, it's just that I wouldn't have wanted to provide a hot and a cot to me when I was one. I certainly wouldn't want swabbies or leathernecks or flyboys or even worse, officers of any branch, bringing my neighborhood down. Plus, as a Texian, I reserve the unrestricted right to shoot anyone who doesn't already live in my house.

I do not see any need for repeal. Soldiers can be quartered in our homes in time of war (in accordance with the law), and we are at war. Make room for the 101st.

The 2nd and 3rd amendment were both reactions to the times in which the Bill of Rights were drafted. The second amendment interpretation has changes as the need to maintain arms to support a militia now implies an individual rights.

I think the 7th amendment should be read by the book. $20 is what is says. I am sure the framers knew that inflation would exist, and yet, they didn't explicitly give a figure that could be tied to the growth, so one would deduce that they meant $20.
