My son was in Cub Scouts for three years. Honestly, I knew very little about organizational issues -- other than we were constantly being asked for money. Anyway, toward the end of last school year, I became more aware of the BSA's hatefulness and decided then that there was no way we as a family could continue to support this organization. Fortunately, my son had started finding the meetings boring and meaningless, so taking him out of Cub Scouts was not a big deal at all. We are now in a family bowling league (with ALL types of family configurations) that plays every Sunday, and he is having an absolute blast.

I fully support and admire the Girl Scouts program, and if we ever have a girl, I think both my wife and I would be very supportive of her joining Girl Scouts if she wanted to do so.
