Celebration Booze

There are events in life that have more meaning than others. Getting married, buying a dream house, having a kid, landing a dream job, or even putting away the red pen and retiring from Planning. For these events, a 40 of OE, Natural Light, or BUD, is not going to cut it… neither will the basement shelf liquor like Armaan’s Premium Quality Black Booster Whiskey.

For these moments, you break out the good china, crack open the box of Cubans, and open the good stuff. For me, the good stuff is Jameson Irish Whiskey. I only drink it on big events. I am a beer snob all the other times.

What is it for you? Will you be like RJ and drink out of a dusty bottle from a foreign land, or will it be a malt beverage? Maybe it is a very expensive beer? For you, what is your ‘good stuff’.

Sam Admas Infinium has been our New Years toast drink of choice for the last few years.

For me, the good stuff is Jameson Irish Whiskey. I only drink it on big events.

If you want a smoother, more refined whiskey I suggest Bushmill's.

Now that InBev bought AB I don't drink Bud beers anymore. Inbev stopped using the high-quality halletaur hops from Germany that the Busch's always used. They also bought Beck's and Bass, shipped production to the U.S., and ruined the recipe in the process. Inbev's a cheap company with no pride in the product, it's a shame the Busch's sold out to them. Sorry for the rant, but I used to be a heavy Bud drinker so this is a little personal

I was actually joking. I've never been a fan of AB, I'm a MillerCoors guy.

For my celebration booze, I tend to go all nostalgia/old school and bust out a forty of Mickey's. Or I'll go and get a selection of my favorite of microbrews. Nothing specific though.
