Jeez, there's a lot of good ideas here. All I've come up with is "Sparky."

Oooo... why haven't I thought of this before? Maybe she should be named after a subatomic particle!

As for insects, I suppose "milkweed assassin bug" doesn't do it for you, huh? I know, too VW-y

And I really like the sound of "top quark" among the sub-atomic particles.

    How about "half spin"
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The Stop Squark:
superpartner of the top quark, and
is thought to have a low mass and is often the subject of experimental searches.
    Sounds about right.

    Come along with the squark!

Edit: Is it presumptuous to name such a relatively small car the Schwarzschild Radius?

How about I keep it simple and name her Ginger?

She could be called Ginger Schwarzschild, but go by Squark.

Squark is too fun to say, to not have it in her name somewhere.

I think we have a winner!

This simultaneously made me thirsty, want to listen to REM, and want to go scoot around.

    Gah! I missed it.

And I now have a craving for something sweet, bubbly, and orange to drink.

I think Ursus was ready to step up there until he read the "to drink."

BTW, my next name nominee was going to be "Ol' Blue." It would show you're not constrained by new orange car stereotypes.
