    Visual preference/character survey

Is anyone familar with a City/County/University that is in the process of completing a Visual Character Survey? I have been involved with a couple in the past, but would like to look at some newer projects and how the process has evolved. If you think you have seen one that stands out I would be interested in learning more about it as well.

I'd like to take specific properties and add/remove features... ie. landscape, visual clutter, various architectural features/relief, etc... as part of the process.

    Thanks!

League City, TX Comprehensive Plan has the results of an image-preference survey in the document.
"This is great, honey. What's the crunchy stuff?"
"M&Ms. I ran out of paprika."

Yeah DetroitPlanner, I've Googled it a bit and come across a few... Was hoping to get some opinions/thoughts from someone who has been involved with a recent project that went well.

nrschmid I appreciate it, I'll check out League City's Comp Plan.

    Thanks again!

The reason why I asked was I found some from my area, but I had no idea what you were trying to convey. I realized that the examples I was coming up with may not be the examples you were looking for.

I just re-read it, and it sounded very flippant, I apologize for that.

"Flippant" LOL... No I didn't take it that way DetroitPlanner, no worries... I came across some work that a CA based company did for El Paso, TX that I like. Looks like I'll be taking some time to create a few of my own images. I was hoping to save some time and use bits and pieces from some projects, as well as a few slides of my own.

    Thanks again!

Rutgers finished one several years ago for their College Avenue area plan. The god father of the VPS is Tony Nelessen who teaches in the Bloustein School there.
