    Best liquor for eggnog?

What is it- Brandy, Bourbon, Whiskey, Rum? Some combination of these? The internets have provided many different answers, and it is apparent that this matter can only be settled by the boozebags refined liquor aficionados at Cyburbia..

    Rum. (I can't believe you didn't do a poll)
People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor

Another Rummy here. Although, Bourbon is a close second.

Don't make or drink this eggnog that you speak of.

Bourbon. I am not an eggnog fan. More a hot buttered rum kinda girl.

Our "secret family recipe" includes Southern Comfort, rum and brandy in varying amounts. And yes, it's made with raw eggs and everything! Store bought eggnog and adding booze to it should not even qualify for true egg nog.

we made it from scratch years back, using Joy of Cooking recipe and yes it was a combination of liquors and it was pretty awesome -

I just use rum with the store bought kind, though

having chickens and fresh eggs helps with making it from scratch too!

Typically I use SoCo, rum & brandy in combination. However, I've been known to just throw some Jameson in when I'm being lazy.
