Share your 2013 New Years Resolutions!

The new year is just around the corner, and despite what a few weirdos among our species think, the Mayans never said anything about the world ending tomorrow, and even if they had (which they didn't damn it!) that prophecy would be just as wrong as all the other ridiculous doomsday prophecies we have all survived without incident. So, without further digression, let's plan our 2013 resolutions!

    1. I have resolved to start working out again. For real this time.
    2. I have resolved to become a better gardener.
    3. I have resolved to finally learn more about birds.

How about the rest of you?

My resolutions from last year were

    1. Buy a(nother) house.
    2. Get back into the gym.
    3. Run in some 5K races.

I did buy another house and ran in two 5K races. I did not get back into the gym largely due to #1, but also because we've been so damn busy I would've been throwing money down the drain.

    For 2013:

    1. Become healthier, which can encompass many things.

I figure that's all that really matters at this point. I'm content with everything else.

    3. garden more diligently

Turn my morning cup of fat and diabetes from Starbucks and Biggby into a weekly cup.

Run 1,000 miles - that was also my goal this past year but it looks like I will get to about 930 miles this year. However, in my defense, I didn't really set this as a goal until just a couple of months ago.

Next time you are in the area you must stop by and see the Swift tower we are putting up this spring. MW has already downloaded some excellent instructions/blue prints. We just have to buy the lumber and get hammering.

I am 45 minutes from Toledo. Besides I can't leave, after all our world class art museum and zoos are better than your world class art museum and zoos!

I would love to! And visit Oak Openings Park, to see the red-headed woodpeckers.

Both the TMA and DIA are awesome museums. Each have stong points that compliment each other.

The Zoos are both nice, though the Detroit one leaves me weary by the end of the visit, too spread out. It does however have some of the coolest artic and amphibian exhibits anywhere.

Why is it that penguin houses universally and literally stink?

    Me? My resolution?

I don't need any. I am perfect. My mom says so!

Penguins eat fish, don't flush and don't wipe their booties. Nuff said.

Ugghh… shudder… I worked at the Columbus Zoo during college and the only thing worse than penguin poop was flamingo poop…. we would stick the newbies with the penguin and flamingo poop duties.

I have a big resolution this year because I'm also turning a multiple of 5 this year... climb Mount Whitney. I wanted to do it last year but had to settle for running a 5k. The main problem is finding someone to do it with me. Seems like everyone has already done it or isn't interested.

    1. Learn how to grow brocolli without the damn things bolting before I can eat em
    2. start brewing beer again
    3. stop paying so much attention to stupid politics
    4. engage in more snark

Rejoin my diet (Thanksgiving to Christmas is a lost cause) and lose another 20-30 pounds. We have a nice work out room in our apartment building now so I am going to make an effort to get on the treadmill 3x a week for 30 mins.
Leave the office consistently at 5:30 every day.
Pay off credit card balances by end of summer.
