My friend is going on vacation in Santa Fe and she invited me but I said no. Why would I do that? Boo hoo hoo.

    What of it -
    eye exam ?
    selecting the frames ?
making the step to transition lenses ?
    cost ?
    or
just because of fear of change ?

Fun, get away for a while, see friends, visit old stomping grounds. We might go up to LA for a day and see my alma mater.

A good optician will help you select your new face.

Yes, yes, yes, I realize it is supposed to be "it's" rather than "its".

I know the feeling. If I lived closer, I'd help you pick 'em out. kms is right... find a good optician.

    Is this interesting -

promo & coupon mailer for the grand openning of a McDonald's offering -

Give $104 to the Ronald House (adjacent to one of our hospital's) and get a free Big Mac, Egg Muffin, or McCafe each week for a year.

Is this a local or national effort ?

Ack. My dad's birthday is tomorrow and I've been procrastinating something fierce. Alas I have no gift for him. Suggestions? He likes food, maps, and books.

Has he read Nathaniel's Nutmeg? A great book about the spice trade of hundreds of years ago.

I get my frames from eyeglass direct. After a regrettable experience at a dept store optical shop (they ordered the complete wrong frames, I could see that across the room, "oh no these are correct," my takeaway Rx was incorrect, the music glasses became scratched within two months...) I am back to mail order.

Lens choice is the tallest possible, as I hate the sensation of wind blowing on my corneas. Titanium drill-outs, color frames, progressives, all for about $150.

    I should post a pic.

I decided to go with a digital picture frame. He has about a bazillion photos so I thought he might like to display some of them.

The commercial season for dungeness crab opened last week. So last night we had a crab for dinner, with caesar salad and champ sparkling wine from Spain.

Six year anniversary tonight. Local fondue place followed by birthday shopping for our youngest and possibly some grocery shopping. Yes, life only gets more romantic, lol.
