Haven't looked it up but I'm guessing the pattern was originally called Yle. The rest of the name came from the reaction to it. As in, "Arg, them be some foine Yles ye be wearin'. Thus Argyles. I could be wrong.

I actually left work close to quitting time today and lo and behold the sun was still out! I can't remember the last time that happened! *inserts sunshine smilie*

Ursus,, I've got to disagree with you here. The style is fine, but for lavender pants, no brown; only black shoes will do.

Or, of course, any color of golf shoes.

Wow, that's big news! Is it Good Big News, or Bad Big News?

I'm going to work for FEMA. Not quite ideal as I'm taking a pay cut and losing benefits, but I'll be much happier.

    Desk update

Turns out the desk relocated to my office yesterday is the correct piece. I've got the furniture arranged in such a fashion that I could make a great desk fort.

I'll try to remember to take a picture and post it. (Have we done that thread: "Show us your office." ?)

EDIT: Congrats on the new gig, Planderella.

I did the "gun in the mouth suicide" pantomime in City Council last month. Yeah, I caught some crap for that...

I referred to myself as "intrepid" at the PC meeting last night and then told them that I was disappointed at their chuckling because I worked so hard to establish a sense of decorum at city proceedings.

I'm widely known to be really surprisingly immature for a 40 year old professional in a pretty sober profession. And still, I'll complain later this week that they won't take me seriously as a manager. You'd think I'd learn.

Nothing good can come from answering your phone at 4:45pm, especially when the guy calls you back two times after he leaves a message. I have a horrible train wreck rezoning to present next week...must be starting early.

    Congrats to Planderella!

Also congrats...to you know who you are

I have work stopped at a site, and the owner is good for calling close to quitting time if she's had email from me. Now, I alert my coworkers to put on their coats, and click SEND on my way out the door. I return in the morning to a voicemail received at 4:31. It's getting to be a game with me.
