I didn't go this year. Went to Philly last month for a conference, and then moved our offices to City Hall, and staff vacations, etc. just made for chaos. How was it?
Chicago has alleys for nearly every street. You see the occasional coach house but for the most part its just garages.We call them alleys in Canada too..

It was ok. Jeff Speck told us that sprawl was bad and that we as planners should refuse to work on anything but urban mixed use projects. Overall, I think it was a good value for the money. Besides, I got to see all sorts of fiends, classmates, and former coworkers.

Yes we have that here in sydney. Mainly 'studios' or as we call them 'fonzi' flats where the dwelling/studio is above the garage. Existing inner city areas have them and some new housing subdivisions.
