Being strong, and not sobbing at work each day, or saying to others, "gee, your blatant discussion of pregnancy, newborns, in front of me is a little difficult for me" just makes me a sucker. But if I had sobbed and broken down then I would've been labeled as "delicate" and unable to complete my work.

I seriously just told my PD that I would like a little sympathy and understanding for not eating a bullet this past summer.
I wish I could say something that would make you feel better. If you were my coworker, I'd be more sensitive than yours are. People, especially women, can be so insensitive.

There was a good Dear Prudence on a related topic. Will see if I can locate it again.

    And I did. http://www.slate.com/articles/life/d..._to_drive.html

Read the comments, too. (This is more of the jaw-dropping what are they thinking??? type of support, but it might lead you to a discussion with cow-irkers. I would tell them, or enlist someone to tell them.)

At least everyone hear supports you and your communication skills are definately not laking if even I can comprehend how bad the situation from just one quick sentance. It's other people's social skills that need work.

And did this prince among men appear startled or have any reaction to your statement? Or did he expect you to just roll over? From what you've said about the former and now again boss, maybe he should take a bullet for the team.

You need hugs. And bunnies! And cute puppy pictures! And your husband should consider taking some of his weekend warrior buddies to the office late one day and "communicate" with that asshat of a boss.

Of course we know a lot, but it is context that's missing, not treasures." - Werner Herzog, in Archaeology, March/April 2011

There is a blocked callers list that you can add numbers to manually. Hit menu when you're on the call screen and there should be a blocked callers item on the menu. If there is a way to auto add the numbers, I have not found it.

People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I didn't mean to turn it into The Dandy Show. I just needed someplace to vent with people who might understand. I'm feeling a bit huggy so I might have to send ursus out to get you all!

Someone else can carry on the illustrated alliterative work. I've got important work to do. Perhaps Mister, Maister, Munster?

Working from home with a sick kid (who is much today) hasn't been this mecca of productivity like I had hoped.
This morning started with a fight over cartoons on TV, followed by a request to help draw a Christmas tree with crayons, followed by a fight over breakfast.
Now he is napping and I have lost all motivation to take advantage of this time.

(So I weasel more time away from work on the FAC...)

If he were a regular player, I would have started a thread conveying birthday wishes to Rumpy Tunanator. Alas.....

I miss Rumpy's visits to this neighborhood.

It's 7:40 pm; the tile guy just left 20 min ago. We need to take back our time. There is something weird about cooking and eating dinner while a guy is working in our shower. The contractor's "schedule" would never fly if we were both working; he could have everything done in a week or less, except for the shower, if he got his subs coordinated. This is frustrating. When will you be here tomorrow? We'll call. Sheesh.

Has anyone besides me ever lost a dental crown - either ranging from the fear of losing , came loose, and worse broke off ?

And to add the worst timing possible - a couple of years ago on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day was friday, weekend, then cutting your trip short because you then wouldn't get in to your dentist until after New Years.
