That is never good enough. Don't you know you should be giving your all every second of every day? You are on the government roll aren't you? That is TAXPAYER money!

I feel that way today as well though....

The contractor's been here 20 minutes.

My Monday is the fun filled performance review day. Fortunately it's only one person and they're great.

Only old men? I find it is the guys who have lots of muscle too. It seems the skinny runner types don't stick around very long....

Strange question from a caller (same caller who off the cuff said something like, 'you know how hard it is to find information from the government' when asked why he was calling me about building permit questions like bathroom requirements).

Hey, do you know what congressional district the business location I am looking at is in?

A good follow up would be "yes, and did your mother smoke while she was pregnant with you?" or yes and some other random question.

Those kind of calls are always enjoyable, as they help me keep up with my elected officials.

Ha, no, it was a random question (that would have been funny though!), after I explained what he needed to do to open a business in town. I'm not sure why he asked, our town was split up during the last redistricting because we are reliably one party typically are we help the cause for the balance of the delegation from NC. I reminded him that the congressional district has nothing to do with dealing with the local government for what he is trying to do.

PS-I gotta send you some hot state Legislative info

Actually...if you were to deny this fine application, he could call in the big guns (heh) to add political pressure. Jobs, the Constitution, etc.

Does it say anything about me that me former professor was arrested for making threats against the Liberty Bell?

I've often wondered the same thing.

They also like to hang out in front of one of the TVs in the common areas at my gym and monopolize what we can watch and horde all the free bagels each morning.

What's wrong with bleach? It's a very effective cleaning product.

So neighbors started a petition to get a referendum on the next ballot to stop a large project to go through in my burgh. The name of the initiative...

I can barely see right now. I had an eye appointment and they dialated my eyes. I'm sitting in a dark office with sunglasses on! Oh yeah, getting new glasses in seven to ten days!

I have that done at least once, sometimes twice, every year. There never seems to be a cloud in the sky on those days. I put on my prescription sunglasses and then a pair of larger polarized non-prescription sunglasses over those. That makes driving home or to the office blurry but possible.

Welcome to my world. So many would rather see scattered sprawl that quickly eats up farmland, wildlife habitat and unique natural areas, than compact development that better saves those areas.
