Anyone ever make homeade mac and cheese with real cheese? Sometimes I get creamy cheese mixture and other times it curdles. Why? Pleas halp!

I make sloppy joes with my mom's recipe. It was what she always fixed for us when she and Dad were going out and we had a sitter. Sloppy joes, homemade cole slaw, and chocolate shakes, yum. The kid and I love them. RJ smothers them with chili powder and shredded cheddar to make them "edible".

    I make mine from scratch - I use a recipe from food.com

yes my hubby's family has a great recipe from scratch - I will find it and get it to you - I never liked macaroni and cheese until I had this - the secret is use a decent blend of cheddar - I use NY and Vermont (apologies to Wisconsin)

My MIL makes this all the time, a dab of Mayonnaise while mixing seems to help. Also, use higher quality cheddar.

It's disappointing to start a new book by an author I've read for decades and found funny and relevant, and I can't get into the new book at all...

Haha, will do. Got the call and informal offer, but it's not official till I receive the formal one.
    And that concludes staff’s presentation...

Don't go with cheap cheddar. Also it helps to through in some type of cheese that's creamier/meltier in nature: brie, swiss, havarti, gouda (smoked is tasty), etc. I usually throw in a couple slices of american cheese too. Use whole milk and don't overcook the sauce since it will start to look a bit curdled.

Having one of those days: Since I have a code enforcement hearing tomorrow morning and my usual site cleanup guy wasn't available and no budget, yours truly was tromping around a vacant lot cleaning up a bunch of beer and booze bottles as well as random pieces of paper. It was 30F and there was an inch of snow on the lot.

Had to go to City Hall to decipher a payment req for a program officer....that entailed adding two numbers together and subtracting a third number to get the total. Boy did he feel kinda dumb.

Then the CDBG program monitor sees me and asks for some time....seems my boss and junior accountant have not submitted all the necessary docs for compliance and generally are clueless about (Misters) Davis-Bacon and the city's Affirmative Action requirements. I tell him please CC me on all email communication or BCC if he's more comfortable with that because it's going to end up on my desk when it becomes a problem, because it's my job to fix other people's problems.

At least I got to sign to P.O.s for $400K worth of payments

And........although my gas gauge says one thing, the car says another and I ran out on the way home. Naturally the gas can is at my house and not at the car. RT took the bus to school, I hoofed it home and sent my honey out to get the gas and go fill the car so he could go to school.

Hey, I guess I got those exercise points on my diet tracker today. I walked fast because it was cold and I'm white in the 'hood.

I'll be checking the mail for the next few nights. And yes, I'm staying in SoCal and I won't even have to move either .

It just means that I won't get mail on Saturdays beginning in August. I can wait for Monday.

I just found the 80's love songs station under Valentine's Day...pretty good, Chicago is on now!

My other recommendation, the Grammy's Alternative station.

Children in wells is a classic. I had a over sensationalized text amendment for an indoor shooting range. I was waiting for the ghost of Charlton Heston dressed as Moses to come in the Council Chambers last night. The incorrect fact of the night award goes to the applicant who claimed that a normal conversation is 85 decibels.

Gotta love this zoning definition -

REGULATED ANIMAL: means and includes any mammal, amphibian or reptile which is of a species which, due to size, vicious nature or other characteristic, is inherently dangerous to human beings. Examples of regulated animals considered capable of inflicting severe bodily harm to humans include but are not limited to the following:
And that is not the opening line for the prohibited animal list.

this is always good to have -
An Escape Notification Plan. In the event that a regulated animal licensed under this Ordinance escapes, the Escape Notification Plan shall be a listing of the names and phone numbers of all authorities to be notified of the escape. A copy of this plan must be kept on the premises of the property.
