I enjoyed "At The Movies" with Gene Siskel. I've enjoyed Ebert's reviews, some of which were very funny, some were very thoughtful.
I greatly admired his character as cancer whittled away at him year after year. He showed amazing strength, grace and courage in adversity.
I prefer to remember him as he was before cancer disfigured and eventually destroyed him. I admire him for how he persevered when cancer could not diminish him.

"From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler"; author of one of my favorite books as a kid, has died at 83. I think this was one of early "tween" books, along with "Harriet the Spy", the White Mountains trilogy, S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders", etc. A great book.
