I prefer to remember him as he was before cancer disfigured and eventually destroyed him. I admire him for how he persevered when cancer could not diminish him.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

The radio is reporting that Annette Funicello died. They're waiting to air a special report about it. I can't remember the last time I heard a thing about her.

All you other old Cybs, ever notice that parents in old t.v. shows, like Lumpy's parents, looked way too old to have the kids they did?

    Author E.L. Koningsburg, childrens author

"From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler"; author of one of my favorite books as a kid, has died at 83. I think this was one of early "tween" books, along with "Harriet the Spy", the White Mountains trilogy, S.E. Hinton's "The Outsiders", etc. A great book.

People will miss that it once meant something to be Southern or Midwestern. It doesn't mean much now, except for the climate. The question, “Where are you from?” doesn't lead to anything odd or interesting. They live somewhere near a Gap store, and what else do you need to know? - Garrison Keillor
