2013 Cyburbia Fantasy Football Discussion

Okay, so we made it through 2012. What are we doing for 2013? I think we can all agree that we didn't exactly have 16 active teams.

What are the options / ideas and solutions for 2013.

A couple things to consider -

One league - 8/10/12 teams
Two leagues - 8 teams each
Two leagues - 8 team / 10? team

Keepers?
Automatic Draft?
Cyburbia Draft?
Live Draft?

Let's discuss before it is July and we haven't made up our mind again. Go.

I think 10 is a good number, and I vote for keepers. Snaking draft the first year, after that worst team picks first on down to the winner of it all.

I like two leagues as well. I for one would rather do the intramural league and have a yahoo draft rather than the month long Cyburbia draft.

IMO if the hardcore league is going to be keepers then pick one of the two leagues and use the teams from that league. Those new to the that league pick one of the available teams based upon the standings from last year, time playing FF and finally time as a Cyburbian.Do that draft on Cyburbia.

I like the hardcore idea. I am in for pay to play as well. It gives incentive to try harder.

Ah yes, ff chat in March. Gotta love it. How 'bout those combines! Our local hero Jordan Poyer is holding his own and I'm hoping my Lions snag him in the 2nd round.

Anyhoo, I am definitely in for a money league and/or being much more selective on who gets in. Most of us have a decade or so playing in this league - we pretty much know who we want in so it may very well be time to close it to newcomers unless perhaps someone gets referred.

I love the sloooow viking draft - nothing else like it. Heck, let's get it going now.

Let's consider divisions with geographic relevancy. Four divisions with four teams each would be great. Remember the rookie draft? That was kind of cool. I like a few keepers as well.

Oh, and lastly, the draft clock goes to west coast time this year. Y'all with yer east coast bias...killin' me when I wake up at 7AM and I've gone Viking. I know I know, it's not happenin'.

People who didn't play the year out get last possibility. $25 for 10 or 12 people distributed back to 1st and 2nd only (hey the Atlanta Falcons got nothing didn't they?). Keepers would be tough if we merged North and South leagues. I think we should, if we have two leagues go East and West and try to keep people in their respective time zones so trades and drafting goes better.

I think charging money will get more people to invest their time and effort. I like the East and West idea. I think if we do keepers we would have to start that in 2014. I don't think we should do keeper when we are changing the format again.

Such an early discussion skews it toward the hardcore don't you think? Not a fan of two leauges.

How do you determine "played the year out"? I didn't do well in this league... again... but I played. So?
