    1. I feel like Garfield since I had lasagna for lunch. I wish I could take a nap.
    2. It's 66 degrees and misting rain. tRump must have sent us some good old global warming down here.
    3. Our plotter isn't playing nice today.
    4. Time to cash out my loose change jar. When it's this full like this it's usually around $75 but no coins mendlemen would want.
    5. No one in Admin is here this afternoon. Only ACM was here this morning. Jump starting a long weekend I reckon.

Uno: One-third of my staff are out with influenza sounds much more impressive than we're down to two because of the flu.
Dos: I swear nobody reads conditions of approval. Including the boss ...
Tres: Daughter has been accepted to two of the three schools she applied to and is waiting on the final school, which as luck would have it, is her preferred option.
Quatro: We finally have a mayor willing to tackle a major issue in the community and the feds are pulling the rug out from right underneath him (and other similarly situated mayors). I don't know that he'll be able to achieve what should have never happened in the first place, but should have been righted decades ago. We shall see.
Cinco: Today would have been my parents' 69th wedding anniversary. Sadly, it wasn't a very happy union. Had I not come along when I did, my siblings would be amongst those [not Norwegian, or Swedish, or Finnish Scandinavians] so desired by the Cheeto in Charge. I wonder if they blame me ...

    1) The melting snow created a nice layer of ice on the roads this morning.
    2) Wife thinks that she wants to switch to a department that would be overnights. I am very opposed to this but she is miserable because her supervisor is an idiot.
    3) Found a few new podcasts that I like.
    4) I need to talk to my kids about not touching other kids right now because of the flu.
    5) My oldest has been quite defiant as of lately. He is not thrilled that he is grounded from friends and games on his kindle for the weekend. (Books are still ok)

    1. It's been a very chopped up week
    2. Having a snow day in the middle of the week didn't help
    3. Being numb tired is an interesting experience
    4. Looks like it's back to Texas for a summer vacation.
    5. Corpus Christi anf Texas Gulf Coast seem to be on the agenda.
When did I go from Luke Skywalker to Obi-Wan Kenobi?

    1) Late Council meeting last night because our Council loves executive sessions.

    2) Early morning meeting, followed by another meeting . . .

    3) I HATE IT when people are very late to a meeting and don't apologize or have any valid reason for being so late (I'm talking 1/2 hour, not 5 minutes)

    4) Supposed to be nice this weekend, which is good - I need to wash my car. It's got bird dooey on it from the undesirable parking location earlier in the week.

    5) I'm hungry. When is it not too early to go out for lunch?

    2. He had approved all over 2 weeks ago.
    3. All my items were printed and in the process of assembly.
    4. Guess I'm gonna be here late.
    5. We're childless this weekend.

    1) Specific builder can't meet current UDC design requirements, so he cried to the CMO. No sympathy received but now he's got a bunch of other builders in line. Strange thing is, most of the other builders haven't had any problems meeting code . . .

    2) Why am I so tired on Thursday nights? I went to sleep about an hour earlier than usual last night.

    3) No plans for lunch. Maybe hit up a local place for a sandwich? Or a burger?

    4) Have no solid plans for the weekend. Maybe a movie?

    5) How is it almost February?

    1. First full week of work in a while
    2. Needless to say, today has been dragging
    3. I'm thinking about renting Master and Commander

    5. G'day mate.

    1) Sinus congestion meds and reading post titles don't mix. Just look at Tuesday!
    2) I went to the gym at lunch. I wonder if that was such a good idea if I am not feeling 100% right now.
    3) It is going to be nice tomorrow. I want to make sure that I get out side and get some sun and fresh air.
    4) Sometimes I wonder if GOD has to answer to utility companies and the rail road too.
    5) Tip to developers, it is not a good idea to stop paying your engineer 6 months before your vested rights expire.

    1. It's Friday right? This is the right thread?
    2. peach - I hope the person that rear-ended you wasn't involved in the pipeline thingy.
    3. I just had an applicant say he'd rather talk to my associate about a project, but he'd rather talk to me over a pint (& yes I've known him for many years).
    4. We had an employee escorted out yesterday by her supervisor. I was out of the office then and missed it. Evidently this was met with relief from several.
    5. I'm happy I won't be in Minnesota this weekend. I'll be plenty cold right here thank you.

    1. Finally finished the seven eves book.
    2. I dipped back into hard sci-fi
    3. Back to mysteries, action and thrillers
    4. Altered Carbon looks interesting on Netflix
    5. Slowly chugging away on the story I'm writing.

    1. Some books you can't set down.
    2. Some books have parts that you find it difficult to set down.
    3. Usually it's works of fiction that are the real page turners
    4. I hate it when it takes six months to read a book. One page at a time. Get interrupted. Repeat.
    5. Loki Thor Freya

    1) About to head to an Employee Event, themed on Sunday's Big Game. We partnered with Parks to host, knowing that Parks is the best organized, with-in department here, and that most of the pre-event work would be taken care of in advance. So my group is mostly doing clean-up, but I'll be there to mingle and smile with the big wigs that wanted this event but didn't want to host.

    2) Total girlie day planned tomorrow. Nails, shopping, lunch - all that's missing is a hair appointment!

    3) Had a developer do a complete 180 on his approach to staff on comments issued. Why? Turns out his engineer dropped the ball, and now the developer has apologized to staff. Totally out of character for this guy . . .

    4) Sometimes I miss my last place of employment. Usually when it comes to Code language that has teeth.

    5) Hubby has had a rough week at work. I'm thinking a casual date night is in order this weekend.

    1. A night of weird dreams
    2. Not bad dreams, just weird
    3. Makes you wonder what's going on in your own head
    4. Helping out with a prom tonight
    5. Which is deeply ironic since I never went to any of mine

    1. It's a snowy winter day
    2. I look forward this weekend to doing some cross-country skiing across the street
    3. Maybe play some board games, put some stew in the slow cooker, and spend a classic winter weekend indoors with the family
    4. It's pretty quiet at work today
    5. We're going to continue the Monk binge-watch. We're half way into season 2. I think Sharona leaves in a few episodes.

    1. I hate our zoning code with a passion. It contradicts itself in several places. I feel bad when I give a client information only to find its wrong because of a clause in another chapter.
    2. Today's lunch plans have been cancelled. Get to figure something else out to eat.
    3. The ACM asked me to look at a piece of land the city is eyeing for a project. I pulled out a sketch plan I did a couple years ago and said "you mean like this?"
    4. Plans for Saturday afternoon have been cancelled due to rain. Get to figure something else out.
    5. The North London Derby is tomorrow morning @ 7:30 on the tele.

    1. If I could be any place but right here right now, I'd go home. I've become a real homebody.
    2. Busy weekend ahead. My friend's band plays in town tonight and tomorrow night, and I'm going to an REI bike repair class tomorrow. Visiting REI the day after payday is a bad combination.
    3. Sunday is nesting day.
    4. I'm feeling more confident with my new duties.
    5. Sometimes I think I could undersell the coffee shop across from my house, and get all of their customers to use my front porch instead of their little dining room.

    1) It is nice right now but will rain this weekend.
    2) I wonder what I should eat for dinner. Oh, it is national Pizza day you say.
    3) The past two weeks have been a little crazy. I worked a half day last Friday and took extra hours off this week and still ended up with more than 90 hours during the past two weeks.
    4) I had to have a CT scan done today. The tech was not amused when I asked of the machine would make me glow or turn me into spider man.
    5) Some people are just out to give planners a difficult time. They don't want to actually accomplish what the are requesting to do, but they want to push us to drinking.

    1. We're going to have daily high temps in the 60s and 70s for the next couple of weeks. I'll enjoy it while it lasts - things always nosedive at some point in March.
    2. Construction on the nearby greenspace seems to be picking up pace.
    3. We added a third cat to the household about a month ago (one year old male) - integrating him with our two older bonded sisters was, um, interesting, but everyone seems to be getting along all of a sudden.
    4. Dinner out with the neighbors tonight at a place that prides itself on its margaritas. It's been a long week at work for a couple of the folks in the group (including Mrs. Bubba). This could get ugly (in a good way).
    5. Looks like leftover pizza for breakfast.
I found you a new motto from a sign hanging on their wall…"Drink coffee: do stupid things faster and with more energy"

    1. It's supposed to get up to 40 today and stay in the upper 30's for several days afterwards. That means the snow will mostly melt
    2. Teenagers invented angst
    3. I wonder if I should spend today finishing these two staff reports? Magic 8 ball says "definitely". Damn.
    4. Junior has a band party tonight. Maybe Mrs. Maister and I can play a board game this evening while he's out
    5. Yes, really. A board game.

    1) I was very passive-aggressive in a reply-all email today. At least everyone was internal. But really - the original sender was being stupid . . .

    2) Marathon this weekend! No, not me - Hubby is running on Sunday!

    3) Off on Monday - I'm thinking shopping and maybe some work email cleanup/cleanout.

    4) Friday night - what to have for dinner? I know I'll have pizza tomorrow, so maybe Mexican??

    5) Running a couple quick errands at lunch. So far it's not raining . . .

    The Girl's birthday is tomorrow
Today the high is 75, tomorrow the high will be 45
Gathering all the tax stuff together & hopefully getting it to the accountant next week
The last place I work now broadcasts their Commission meetings. It's been a thrill to watch & know I don't have to deal with that crap anymore.
People thought I exaggerated what went on at the old workplace. Now they know I wasn't.

    1. Monday off makes for a good 3-day weekend
    2. Will probably catch a movie on Monday
    3. The Pictured Rocks coin came out for the America the Beautiful series
    4. Looks like a trip down the Coast to visit my coin dealer in a couple of weeks
    5. British sci-fi is different than American sci-fi.

    1) I have been loving the warm weather the past few days.
    2) My morning routine is being adjusted and I will now bring all my kids to their schools. Sometimes private contractors with public transportation are epic failures.
    3) I am tired today and not feeling all that great. But it will be a long and busy day regardless.
    4) Tomorrow is pinewood derby and I am already planning out my car for next year. *yes, I said my car*
    5) Why is it that when I bring my lunch, I tend to get hungry much earlier and are temped to each my lunch well before lunchtime?
