    Need CU Denver MURP Info

I have applied and been admitted to Colorado University at Denver's MURP program, and am very excited. The Front Range area seems to be a very interesting urban laboratory, and is poised for future development. Based on that strength alone, I applied.

Despite how good I think it is to study inside Denver and Colorado, I know very little about CU Denver's MURP. In fact, I know the least about this MURP of all the programs that admitted me. Marketing literature and the websites were not very helpful, and my friends with access to scholarly journals had a very difficult time finding ones from their faculty. Surely I am overlooking something.

Does anyone have insight into this program? What are their strengths and weaknesses, IMO? Is it valued at all by regional employers? I get the strong impression it is, but I am always open to more insight.

I was there 20+ years ago. Of course the program has changed and I have not kept up with it (time & distance).
I had a good experience when I was there - courses taken and part-time work placement (internship).

Back then I moved out of state for employment.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here?
Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Are you sure you're not hurt ?
No. Just some parts wake up faster than others.
Broke parts take a little longer, though.

    Great school

I am a University of Colorado at Denver MURP '92 alumn. CU-Denver is a great practical, urban environment on the historic Auraria campus in downtown Denver.

While they have added a PhD program since I was there, my impression is they still cater to students who want to work for a living. There should be a variety of affordable hosing options in Central Denver (depending on your situation), and a variety of practical internship options in Greater Denver & the Front Range. UC-D also has access to first-rate practicing planners for studio & law classes.

Did I mention its a practical program? As in you might learn what you need to get a job? I've taken my degree across the Midwest & Mounain states and believe its held up well.

I've also been accepted, but am unsure about everything. I'm sure it's a great program, but it's acceptance processes differ from every other institution. And the decision deadline is April 5th. I've asked for an extension, which they kindly provided.

The draw is their WICHE-WRGP status (allowing some out-of-state students from the 9 western states an opportunity to save $14K to $15K and pay in-state tuition only (total plus!)), practicality of the program and Denver itself, but I've not heard much about it. Thoughts? Insights?
