Why do you prefer working in a private institution over a public (or vice versa)?

Still trying to figure out career options and would like to hear some thoughts on this.

I think we have beaten this topic like a dead horse. Search the threads for all types of info of private versus public.
Brotip #2418 - know when it's time to switch from being "the little engine that could" to the "little engine that said, 'f*ck it'"

    Not so quick Raf.

I don't think this is the typical Public Sector vs. Private Sector question but one in which our new friend here is asking is it better to work for a public university system or a private college or university.

Jabba rookie, are you asking about academia or the actual practice of planning?

Personally I do not know enough to answer that specific question. I can't name too many private universities or colleges with accredited planning programs but I'm sure there are some that exist (if you count Ivy League as private plus a few more).
