Not surprising in that neighborhood. It's where Big Ten graduates seem to congregate post college....

Nice shots, RJ. I wish more people cared about architecture like that, and that more architects today could do it.

Love the old style clock at the top of that tower in the 1st pic of this thread. Reminds me of the clock tower ceremony on Back to the Future 3.

Thank you, Seana, but they are simply a tourist's snapshots from a person who's never had any formal training in photography. I give all the credit to the camera.

As a Chicago native, more of you planners can fix up your code to allow this type of architecture
"This is great, honey. What's the crunchy stuff?"
"M&Ms. I ran out of paprika."

Yepper. Those three-flat rooftop seats kind of evolved into what they are from little private 'tenants and guests' rooftop patios over the past couple of decades and are now a fairly big business for the landlords - such that the Cubs forced them into licensing agreements to continue to allow the tiers of seats.

One thought that I had not long ago is that with the pending renovation of Wrigley Field, the Cubs should have made a deal with those 'across the street' property owners to build their new big-screen scoreboard behind the seats on one or more of those rooftops.

Using Google Earth, I counted at least 10 buildings with roof bleachers. In my observations, it appeared some of the buildings are more akin to private clubs rather than residential apartments with roof-top bleachers. Cubbie fans, am I correct?
